"A few days ago, I stuck my car in sand about 10 feet away from a drive way. It was my mistake, and my own insurance company wouldn't deal with the issue. So I called Kautz Towing, the nearest towing service at that location. The owner told me that their rate is $300 per hour, and asked for my credit card number through the phone. He said this is just to protect their business in case I changed my mind so they could hold $300 against my account. The tow truck arrived shortly for they are just 3 miles away. The guy pulled my car off the sand in a few minutes. But to my surprise, they told me that $300 was just an arrival fee!! On top of that, they still charged me the hourly rate - $300 per hour. What a rip-off! What angers me more than the price is that they are predators, waiting for people who are stuck in a helpless situation to rob them."
