"The LAZY bagel bar. Walked by at 8 am and saw 2 people inside so I thought let’s give this place a try. At that point I was alone and I ordered two bagels with avocado to go. I saw the two pieces of bagel lay down and waiting for some attention for over 15 minutes, at that point I asked to cancel my order and just pay for the plain bagels as they were already cut. The cashier seemed annoyed and said she doesn’t know how to refund, so I waited some more since I paid $22 for this delight. I ended up waiting 20 minutes to get 2 bagels with avocado, and it doesn’t even look appetizing. First and last time."
"We’ve tried this spot twice and were disappointed both times. Unfortunately, their bagels are just not right. They looked too thin sitting in the bakery case, but biting into them was even worse. The structure completely collapses back into dough, so it eats like you only have the tough crust. They were generous with the egg, but it looked and tasted like they were reheated from frozen or premade in some other way. These sandwiches were over $12 each, so I expected better quality. I didn’t have a good experience with the service either. I was the only customer in the building and they got our order wrong. I would’ve went home with a sandwich I couldn’t eat (I ordered no bacon because I’m vegetarian) had I not been watching them make it. They were rather unapologetic when I pointed this out and hesitant to make it right."
"This was a pretty big disappointment to be honest. My husband and I went to Bagel Bar on a Sunday morning and ordered one bagel each (mine was gluten free due to allergy). It was moderately busy, but nothing to write home about. The two bagels took 35 minutes to complete. While the catch phrase on their chalkboard menu emphasizes that they'll spend time to make a quality bagel, the amount of time it took seemed a bit excessive. When we cracked those bad boys open, we thought we were in for a transcendent bagel experience. Nope. Not even close. The bagels were mild in flavor as was the spread. The gluten free bagel was basically the eraser they probably use for the chalkboard menu. It was biscuit-like, but very dense and lacked any flavor. The French onion bagel my husband ordered apparently wasn't much better. Unfortunately, service was another let down. Even with four or five people working the small shop, they struggled to keep up with orders and we're obviously disorganized. Overall, this bagel shop is pretty overrated. If you want a quality bagel in San Jose, try House of Bagels in downtown or even Noah's."
"Awesome Bagel place - by far the most unique and fun in South Bay! You go to a Doughnut place, and you expect to see colors, crazy toppings and a fun experience - not as much in a bagel place! But this place completely blows that thought out of the water. Great bagels, awesome staff, and delicious sandwiches. I was extremely impressed by their beautiful Rainbow bagels - my daughter is in Love! :) And I really enjoyed their Farmhouse sandwich as well - great hit of Balsamic and Sriracha along with fresh veggies. You will love it here."
"Absolutely, positively loved this place. Not only is it the neatest bagel spot in the Bay Area, but the bagels are exceptionally tasty, you can really taste the fact they are homemade in house everyday. The hubby got a rainbow bagel with cinnamon sugar butter, bananas, strawberries, and white chocolate drizzle. I enjoyed The Lox with a rainbow bagel. Both were amazing and well put together. (Was NOT sloppy or rushed). We are very pleased with the whole experience and the environment. We will be back to enjoy the entire menu."
