"Truck in for service on some major issues. Damian got us in right away. Within a week and a half issue repaired plus some other things taken care of. Really appreciated that they didn’t just fix the problem and release the truck knowing there were other issues that would have had us back in there sooner than later. Clean organized shop and very professional. With customer service so lacking these days it was really nice to do business here. Even though I’m in another town, I won’t hesitate in taking my vehicles here again."
"I run a local auction service here. Damien O'Keefe bid and won in excess of 20 lots. His total bill for the lots he bid on was over $9000. After the auction his credit card was declined. He never returned a phone call or an email. This selfishness on his part cost by business to suffer as well as the individuals that were vying for the same lots. Totally unacceptable behavior. Very unprofessional, If he runs his business in the same manner I would not recommend taking any vehicle I own to his shop."
"Do not go here if you are expecting an efficient, knowledgeable, honest auto shop. They are happy to take your money (cash only) initially and if there is an additional problem or need you will be ignored or told "we are so busy - can't get you in for 2-3 weeks". And then when you try to follow up you will not be able to get a hold of anyone or leave a message. Not sure how they stay in business honestly."
"This place tried to force me into a $1500 for a parts deposit for 2 catalytic converters that the owner insisted were completely shot. Informed him that a prior mech already scoped my cats. The owner told me that they had the cats disconnected and I could come see for myself. Being a mechanic, I decided to call his bluff and found that he had not been honest. When I showed up and the cats were still bolted in, and not able to be inspected. The owner became aggressive and rude after that. The owners bruised ego must have blinded him to simple troubleshooting techniques. I took my car to another mechanic a couple miles away, and they simply re-scoped my cats and found them to be completely fine. Then they went to the next step and found and fixed the problem... Like a normal mechanic with integrity... O'Keefe only cares about cool hot rods..."
"I own a 1967 Barracuda, I've had this vibration for months. I started with pinion angle adjustments with shims. It didn't fix it. So I had my shaft rebalanced and a new end welded on at O'Keefes in Hollister(cost 300 bucks). Still had a vibration. Next, tires rebalaanced(20), pulled pumpkin had it resetup (300). Next new axle bearings pressed and purchased (90). Bought and welded on new perches to eliminate any shims (pinion angle set perfect). (50). Had transmission rear bushing and output shaft bearing replaced, new slip yoke, and tailshaft (500). Only to come back to the driveshaft. Took it to a really good shop an hour away in San Jose. How the hell did Damian at O'Keefes balance a driveshaft that was unbalanceable, turns out he welded on the "new end" out of square!!! In the video you can see the driveshaft walking around on the spinner, you don't even need the dial gauge. My vibration is finally gone after another 220 bucks. Damian in the end cost me over 1000 bucks and countless hours of my time. He asked me to bring it back, how could I? He's lucky his incompetence didn't tear up my drivetrain or anything else. NEVER GO TO OKEEFES IN HOLLISTER CA, unless you want to chase your tail."
