"Had this shop do some piston swaps for me a couple years ago. Went back recently because rod broke. I needed him to machine new rod to match his previous work. He denied doing the work previously. Said bring back when I received new piston. Took new piston and new rod to him. He said he couldnt get it done. He was very busy. He recommended JOES ENGINE SHOP in concord. Took my piston and rod there. The guy there tells me that a floating piston should not be steel on steel. That will lead to failure. The rod should have a brass sleeve. I had to purchase 7 more rod because of the machine work previously done was done wrong. Hhmmmm. Rod failure? That's what I had. Reason why someone would deny doing the work? Possibly. I will take it as a learning experience. Letting others know my experience may help them make an educated choice to go elsewhere. I thank the guy at quality for recommending Joe's Engine Shop. I 2nd that. Joe's is professional. I am happy with my experience and the quality of Joe's work."
