Reviews
"I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews, and it's closer to me than where I normally go. I have to say I was not impressed. I ordered a hashbrown burrito, no ham, add beans, and it came out to just under 13 dollars. I should have gone to my usual Chuys off El Cajon Blvd for a breakfast burrito. This didn't have very much hashbrown in it at all, and the size was rather small for the cost as at my other spot, it's a big burrito for about the same price. The red sauce was ok, not the best flavor but better than not having any at all. I will most likely try something different if I give this place another shot and see if we can bump the stars up for the next visit. I like the small feel of this place, and the girl working the counter was super nice, and the cook was cool too. Hopefully, a carne asada burrito will be bigger. All I can do is wait and see."
"No atmosphere, but that’s not what this place is about. Just a great hole in the wall with good, tasty Mexican food. For vegetarians you can build a burrito to your specifications and they do one dish which is all vegetarian (don’t know what it’s called but it’s tasty). Give it a shot, just be aware of the surroundings. It’s all in and out there."
"As you can see at the photo Carne asada burrito not big. The dough has not been well reheated. Small guac and pico."
"My first visit, I had the Surf and Turf burrito. They use different ingredients than I’m used to, but I though it was good nonetheless. Red sauce was flavorful, green sauce was not as much. No room to sit and eat comfortably. As I walked out, I saw them preparing their Flautas….I think for this I will return."
"Chuy's is a small Mexican restaurant with very limited seating for a quick bite. It was clean and brightly lit inside, very contemporary. One of the ceiling lights glares off the menu though, so the menu either needs to be tilted or that light does. Service was quick and the food came out within 10 minutes which is great when your lunch time is limited. I had the Hash Brown Breakfast Burrito and it was good, albeit a little unevenly distributed (which seems like a universal thing with burritos; find yourself someone who does distribute the fillings of a burrito evenly and you make sure you never, ever, let them go). Had the green salsa and it was good; it had good amount of acidicness to balance the salt and fat of the burrito. Good place for lunch and a little more affordable than a lot of other places. I'll be back to try the fish burrito some other time."
