Reviews of Diamond Palace
"Diamond Palace in San Diego is a go to place for Dim Sum when we come to San Diego, boasting the title of the best dim sum restaurant in the city. With its all-day dim sum menu and a dinner selection reminiscent of top-notch Cantonese restaurants in LA, it's a culinary haven for lovers of authentic Chinese cuisine. Upon stepping into the spacious restaurant, capable of accommodating anywhere from 200 to 300 guests, one immediately senses the lively atmosphere. During our visit on a bustling weeknight, the venue was abuzz with patrons, and the air was filled with the rhythmic beats of a lion dance, adding to the festive ambiance of Chinese New Year celebrations. Our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. We indulged in classic Cantonese dishes, such as the succulent pork chop in Peking sauce, the tender beef filet mignon with a kick of black pepper, and the delightful seafood tofu in a flavorful sauce. Each dish surpassed expectations, satisfying even the most discerning palate. Service at Diamond Palace was prompt and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Additionally, ample parking made it convenient for diners to enjoy their meal without the hassle of searching for a spot. In conclusion, Diamond Palace stands out as a premier destination for dim sum and Cantonese cuisine in San Diego. Whether you're craving traditional dim sum delicacies or hearty Cantonese fare, this restaurant delivers on both taste and ambiance, making it a must-visit for locals and visitors alike."
"Large venue, live events (music, lion dancers etc), excellent Hong Kong food experience. Fresh noodles, fresh duck and my Peking Duck had really crispy skin. I'm still eating duck three days later. Portions are generous. Dim Sum is all day and the pork siu mai and shrimp har gow were the largest I've ever seen. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. We had hot tea almost as we sat down! Most of the customers were Asian so you know it was authentic."
"01-11-24 I chose this place when my sister asked where I wanted to have lunch to celebrate my birthday (Thanks sis!). Didn’t ordered much but we both enjoyed our experience dining here. Service: Shout out to Michael (manager) and Sarah (assistant manager) who came by and said hi. Looking forward to coming back here again. The food here is simply yummy! Note: Prices on Dim Sum A $5.99 B $7.39 C $8.39 Tea $2.50 per person"
"We had a delicious meal at Diamond Palace. Authentic Cantonese restaurant with excellent service. We ate the black pepper live lobster which was really excellent. We also had hot & sour soup, shrimp shumai, shrimp dumplings, and egg tarts. The tea is good too. Servers walk around offering side dishes from carts you can order as well as ordering directly from the menu. Great for any size party if you want something fun for a large group. Highly recommend!"
"A fun spot to enjoy fresh, hot dim sum on the weekends. Large banquet venue with nicely dressed staff that greets you with iced water or hot tea, and many carts of steaming hot dim sum being pushed around. Service is fast and plentiful. The portion sizes are huge, we got full pretty quickly. A large variety, you can order from steamed dumplings, fried rolls, congee soup, fresh rice rolls, or Chinese dishes. Not the best dim sum I’ve ever had, but it gets the craving satisfied and my soul feeling happy."
