CEDRO Italian Restaurant 2385 Michael Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320

"Cedros...a quaint, comfortable Italian restaurant that came into being when there was a change of ownership about a month ago (February 2024). In true Italian style, service is not rushed; one is meant to enjoy the food while enjoying one another. Another Italian way, substitutions to menu items are mostly not available. Have tried quite a few dishes, and all have been delicious, and they have Specials that change with the week. The creamy mushroom sauce on the Chicken Milanese and on one of the pastas is wonderful, as is the Spaghetti alla Carbonara (difficult to find this in the local area elsewhere). The Osso Bucco is scrumptious, quite rich and pared with saffron risotto. The portions are generous, another fabulous surprise. If you like roasted potatoes, try them here...yum! The Caesar salad is incredible...I know why get excited about a salad. This one is special with very chilled small Romaine lettuce and house-made dress over the top. Cutting through the dressing into the lettuce is savoring. We have gone on Sundays, and all the tables filled...plus they had a classical guitar player which definitely added to the ambiance. We're enthusiastic that the new, young owner has ventured into a local cuisine of this caliber, and will continue to support him as he gradually increases his menu while he learns his customers. What a pure delight!"

"CEDRO Italian Restaurant in Newbury Park is outstanding. We were regular longtime customers of the previous restaurant in this location so was very curious to try the food and see what the new restaurant was all about. Good word of mouth has already travelled very quickly because this little gem was packed and we understand why. We had an amazing dinner and dessert, the Ossobuco on saffron risotto is absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. The Chicken Porcini Milanese is Fried panko bread chicken, porcini mushroom cream sauce, roasted potato was also delicious and their fresh desserts were amazing. One of the owners was our server and was very engaging and even though they were shorthanded the service was excellent. This is not a fancy or pretentious restaurant but I would compare their food to any high end restaurant in town and put it at the very top. I wish them great success and hope residents will give it a chance."

"Love Cedro! They just opened and did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious. We had the carbonara and osso buco, both of which were outstanding. It's easy to tell the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Nice selection of wines and the staff is very friendly too. Definitely will be coming back!"

"When it comes to authentic Italian food, this new restaurant in Newbury Park is OTTIMO (Italian-speak for EXCELLENT)! We dined there opening night and the Ossobucco, Rigatoni Amatriciana and Chicken Porcini Milanese were all outstanding as were the wines, service, and ambiance. We are already plotting our return! A true winner that deserves 30 stars instead of 5!"

"We love Italian food (who doesn’t?) and it’s not easy to find authentic, truly delicious Italian food so we are so excited to have found this place. We tried a variety of the pastas (all delicious) and the ossobuco. I would say the ossobuco is a standout dish, we will be back often for that! The wine was also good and everything in a good environment with good people and good service. We cannot wait to come back."
