"As I review businesses more, I realize I have to be more honest about my reviews vs doing 1 star and 5 star reviews. The food is great, the shrimp is THICK and seasoned amazingly. Service is a little bit lagged BUT the food and drinks are good so I highly suggest coming here when you have the chance."

"Service could have been better. Didn't feel genuine at all. Felt like someone just there to do the job with a smirk on their face and giggling at the back counter. They didn't also didn't have cod. And my mom got angry and I had to calm her down. Could have said: "I am so sorry ma'am... but we have other selection on the menu." The server was just unwilling to guide us through the menu. Oyster prices are unmarked. And you feel embarrassed to ask them the price. So basically you have to do math in your head for hit and miss and hope you don't get billed $800. It would be absolute disservice to others to give a 5 star rating when I know first hand what a 5 star excellence in customer service feels like. (Do read my other reviews to get a feel.) We were also there to celebrate my birthday. Food was great however. No question about it. Delish fries and first time being a oyster connoisseur. 5/5"

"This is the Oyster place that you post on your IG and everyone asks “wHeRe Is ThAt?!?” But you gatekeep it from them because you want all the oysters to yourself. I’ve tried oysters at all the types of restaurants in the Costa Mesa. Chain restaurants, high end restaurants, ayce sushi where they only give you one order per sitting. Shuck Oyster Bar is better than all of them in every way possible. This is THE place to take people for oysters, even though you want to gatekeep, because the food is great, the drinks are tasty, and the service is wonderful.
