"All hail The Apiary! If you’ve ever wanted to try mead, this is the place! With the guidance of Sir Miles, I sampled a few varieties. Both were delicious and had a fragrant aroma. I went with a few Darkest Flower/Avocado Blossom, and enjoyed them back in my hotel room by the sea. They have other “botanical beverages” (including cider and hard kombucha) here also, and you can hang out and interact in a patio area in the back. The Carpinteria Wine Company a few doors down is also fantastic. What a cool spot in such a cool little town!"

"I didn't think I was a big fan of mead, or of hard ciders and kombuchas, until I came here. I don't love sweet drinks, and every mead I've had in the past has been syrupy, heavy, and too sweet. NOT THESE! Three of us visited right as they opened on a Sunday at noon, we tried 8 or 9 things on tap, and our favorites were Pink Jasmine, Pinkies Out, and Drink Your Flowers (Turmeric, Ginger, Orange Blossom). One of the drinks had guava (I wish I could remember which one it was!) and it was the BEST bev I've had in a while. The vibe here is breezy and lovely (don't let the darkened front doors fool you), there's gorgeous art on the walls, and the back patio is so sunny and sweet. Fragrant, climbing pink jasmine and succulents frame the patio (which abuts a brewery, also delicious), small tables and chairs are arranged just inside a roll-up garage door, and outside in the sun."

"I want to love this place. Cute, off the main path, inside is fun, outside seating, but I’m often disappointed in the drinks. It will be like 30% awesome and 70% way off the mark for my tastebuds. But maybe I’m just weird! I do highly recommend checking it out and I do revisit but I usual only love 1 of the flights I get and the rest I’m not into. FYI there is a secret usually-catering only spot two doors down in the back alley. If they are around you might score some great treats with your drinks!"

"A cool place for unique drinks! It’s a little small, so perfect if you’re going with a few people. They have lots of interesting flavors, and the flight for $22 is definitely worth it to try as many as you can! If you buy a growler and bring the bottle back, you can get $5 credit!"
