"Great service, great food, great cocktails and excellent service. 100% recommend. The ambiance was wonderful, loved the decor, the beautiful caved booths, and the neon sign by the bar. Our server was friendly professional and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and beautiful presentation as well."
"Alejandro’s is probably the best Mexican food I have tried in years (if not ever). Every single dish was absolutely delicious. The place is beautifully decorated with a Riviera Maya vibe, and the staff was always attentive for whatever we needed. Food: my favorite were the birria tacos that come with the bone marrow and its stock. As a close second were the cochinita pibil tacos, also great in its own right, yet less messy to eat compared to the birria tacos. For appetizers, you have to order the queso fundido and esquites. Lastly, for dessert, the churros were simply amazing; really crispy with not too much dough and perfectly fried; they are served with a chocolate and a dulce de leche dip. Overall, we loved this place, and if you are planning a visit to Monterey, this is mandatory visit."
"From the moment we walked in, the host was attentive! We were sat right away, i asked for a little private table during the reservation, and they did. Our waiter, Brad, was amazing! He was knowledgeable about what's on the menu! Our food came out just right on time. The chips were so good! From the staff, food, the atmosphere and drinks! 10 stars! Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend to give this place a try!"
"My wife and I came to have dinner here last night, I have several friends say they liked it or didn't care for it, so I wanted to see it for myself. I'm a local Chef and as for my own experience I would have to say the food was cooked properly but it definitely lacked true Mexican flavors that I was hoping for. I know the concept is a high end Mexican restaurant but the dishes were missing that depth of flavors, only thing we ordered that I would say that had that was the Cochinita Pibil tacos and I truly enjoyed the Camarones with hamony, everything was cooked and plated well but was missing those flavors of Mexico for me. The low rating is because the service was aboslutely disappointing, it started well until our server left for the evening and had another person serve us half way through our meal. My expectations are slightly higher due to fact that I work in the industry and for a restaurant with this caliber I wish the service matched the food. It was a very slow night with maybe 6 tables when we got there at 7:30, and there was plently of time the busser should have cleared our table before our main course came but did not, he was too busy texting on the phone on the side of the bar, while we filled our own water since we ordered bottled water, this part was not a big deal, but my entree was dropped off while I was in the restroom and our dishes from the first course was still there, looked around finally someone noticed and grabbed them and brought us new utensils. I wanted to try dessert and I asked the server if I can see a menu he said he will check with the kitchen if we can still order dessert as they said it was last call a little bit ago, this was barely 8:45pm. This was absolutely unacceptable to say they did last call when they never told us, he asked if we wanted another drink and we declined but did not know this was also for the food. Who says that anyway in a restaurant like this? Wouldn't you want your customer to have a full dining experience, I felt the front of the house was trying to leave. We were able to order the churros and never brought us plates, just dropped the dessert off in the middle. Dessert was also a disappointment because it was falling apart while eating it and had way too much sugar and cinnamon. Our server dropped off the wrong check and had to tell him. At the end, our bill came up to $216 for 2 people, which I am okay with the price point, but with that amount, service should had been better. Would not come back or let anyone come here due to that reason, I would suggest Cultura in Carmel for a better experience. I hope that the owner or general manager take this seriously if they want to be a better restaurant. Please train your staff on how to execute service if they want to be successful. This place has potential but needs A LOT of work. Really disappointing!"
