Reviews of Koi Palace Contempo Cupertino
"This is a branch of Koie Palace. The environment is decent, and the service is good. Compared to the Milpitas branch, the storefront is much smaller. The food is decent, classic Cantonese cuisine. However, compared to other branches, there are fewer choices of live seafood, no aquarium, no crabs, only 2 or 3 types of live fish available."
"I just came to this restaurant with my family (9 people) we ordered a variety of dishes including the braised short rib, soup dumplings, color soup dumplings, lobster har gow, beef potstickers, quinoa and corn rice, soft shell crab, and char siu pork. All the food was excellent! I was really surprised by the quality of the food and the service based on the “mixed” reviews on here. I would definitely recommend coming to this place with large groups. The attention was spot on. They also provided hot tea consistently and checked in on us to see if we needed more drinks, water, etc. Would definitely come back here and hope more people are able to enjoy their food and service!"
"High end dim sum. Most dishes were good. The Pekin Duck was beautifully presented but the actual duck was disappointing. The shrimp with green peppercorns was the hit, spicy and complex, just exceptional."
"The first time I came, I was sitting in the back (not the front). And the experience was very bad. The food, the service. However, this time I'm eating in the front store where they serve different kind of food. More like HK style. Don't go to the back for the dim sum/banquet location. Preserved sausage rice pot - I liked the crispy rice, may be chewy for some. But I enjoyed it. Unagi rice pot - The unagi is a little fishy. Baked pork chop over rice - The sauce isn't too bad. I especially like the fact that it's pork cutlet (pork katsu). It's deep fried and more importantly, they used very good quality pork. Slightly fatty so it's moist and tender. They also cut in pieces before baked. Much easier to eat. Hainan chicken rice - Very flavorful rice which is great. Deboned chicken, nice and tender and it's warm. Some place serve it cold. Milk tea - was unexpectedly good. BBQ rice bowl - Some people think it's not tasteful. I didn't notice but the pork was very high quality. Bit fatty and tender. The service is pretty good as well, and I felt the food is pretty good, though I found it's more expensive than others but then it's at a prime location. All in all, it's pretty good."
"We came here on a Sunday right when they open at 10 and there was no wait for a table of 6. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the chairs, dishware, etc are nice. Service was friendly but they forgot our drinks and didn't tell us one of the dishes we ordered was out until we asked. Overall the food was very ordinary, especially for the high price. The worst dish was truffle duck fried rice- it had no flavor, the duck meat was dry and didn't taste fresh, and the rice was dry and hard. I almost sent this back. The best dish was the Peking duck which tasted great and beautifully presented on a large dish with the sauce and side veggies."
