Reviews of Majorette
"Essentially a dive bar but highly refurbished, better lighting, and super spacious. Tuesday is burger night which means you can get a burger and any beer for just $10! I got a double and added fries which amounted to $15 which is still a steal in this day and age, especially in San Diego. Burgers are fantastic and on the same level as The Friendly's (if you know, you know)"
"Super friendly neighborhood bar. They have a good variety of beers and natural wine along with some great food. A great place to watch a game or play some pool (which is free). Love this neighborhood spot!"
"Majorette is not just a local bar; it's a cornerstone of our neighborhood, a place where good food, great company, and an inviting atmosphere come together seamlessly. From the moment you step through the door, you're met with the comforting ambiance of a true neighborhood staple. What sets Majorette apart is its commitment to maintaining that authentic dive appeal while still being incredibly welcoming to new patrons. The staff, with their warm smiles and friendly demeanor, make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time there. It's this sense of community and inclusivity that makes Majorette more than just a bar β it's a gathering place for friends, neighbors, and newcomers alike. The menu at Majorette is a delightful surprise. It's not your typical pub fare; it's elevated, showcasing a commitment to good food. The variety of options, from hearty comfort food to lighter bites, caters to every palate. Pair that with a selection of well-curated beers and wines, and you've got a winning combination for a memorable night out. One of the highlights of Majorette is the free pool, adding an extra layer of entertainment to your visit. And when the weather permits, the outdoor area is a perfect spot to enjoy a cold drink and soak up the summer vibes. It's these thoughtful touches that make Majorette a go-to spot for locals and a hidden gem for those discovering it for the first time. In a city full of bars, Majorette stands out as a true gem, embracing its dive bar roots while evolving into a welcoming haven for everyone. Whether you're stopping by for the food, the drinks, the company, or a game of pool, Majorette has everything you need for a fantastic night out. Cheers to this neighborhood treasure!"
"We came here for our ever rare date night. We chose to sit at a booth because we had a couple art projects we needed to work on (leading into Christmas.) and needed the space. Im sure that was an odd sight from the typical bar goers but what can I say, we are somewhat of an eclectic pair. We never once felt unwelcoming or silly for just wanting to sit and create. The owner Will, and the bartender on shift (sweet gal with dark hair) actually both came up and showed genuine interest in what we were creating, and good conversation was had. My husband got a beer off tap and I got a classic bottled coke (six months pregnant over here). We shared a delicious burger and shoestring fries, cooked to perfection. Thanks for a stellar time!"
"Saw this place was open on my regular walk. Was curious about it so stopped in. Immediately got greeted warmly by bartender Jake. Perused the beers an excellent craft selection, I like that they try to have a good local variety. Can't go wrong with a $5 tall boy as well after trying a few of the drafts. Honestly though the pull to come back will be the smash burgers, the food is damn good. Highly recommend trying it or the chimichurri steak sandwich. Met the owner, Will, stopped in and we had a great conversation. Left after a game of pool. See you soon, Will and Jake. Thanks for having me."
