Hangar 24 Orange County
About the Business
Hangar 24 Orange County is a bar, food, and restaurant institution located at 17877 Von Karman Avenue in Irvine, California, United States. At Hangar 24, the goal is to achieve the highest standard possible in craft beer. The journey of exploration in creating high-quality beer brings friends together and inspires stories.
Keg distribution began in March 2008 for local restaurant owners, marking the start of Hangar 24's journey. The barrel-aged beer program was launched with Immelman, a porter aged in bourbon barrels, followed by the highly-acclaimed Pugachev’s Cobra Russian Imperial Stout. Hangar 24 has been recognized as a Top 100-Regional Craft Brewery, producing over 15,000 barrels of beer.
The core values of joy, community, and adventure are expressed through events like AirFest, an annual celebration of flight and beer in Redlands and Lake Havasu City. Founder Ben Cook's background in biology and brewing education at UC Davis led to the creation of Hangar 24 Craft Brewing.
The Redlands facility and taproom construction began with support from friends, family, and local flyers. Hangar 24 remains committed to crafting beer that brings people together and creates joy through shared stories.

"What a horrible experience!! 100’s of people and 1-2 people serving at each station. Lines for alcohol are 20-30 min. Stood in line for beer at one station for 15 minutes. Finally got up to order and they tell me they are out of CO2, so no draft beer. They said I can wait in the other 25 min. Line. How awesome. I can! Forget that!!! Maybe put up a sign or yell out every few minutes, no beer in this line. Anything that would signify customer service!!!! Waited in line forever for food, took forever to get and when we did get it, it was ice cold."
"So this place has some good eats, but certainly higher priced and not sure it was totally worth the high price. Better burger than lots of places for sure, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Maybe just more attention to the details... like the onion ring on the bbq burger I got was fairly soft and would have been great if it was crispier. Tomato and lettuce got too warm and soft. Fries were pretty crispy and tasty and they have quite a few cool things on the menu. Flatbread pizzas, salads, sandwiches,... all looked better than just common. Be prepared to eat here and get parking voucher, otherwise parking is super high. Either hang out on the grass where music might played live depending on the night, or sit inside or out for a relaxed place to hang with friends. Would recommend it, but be prepared for higher prices."
"Really cool spot to grab a drink at! The Orange Wheat on draft is so good and refreshing. Nice outdoor patio area to sit at. Food was very good as well. Would recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Very delicious! Location is hidden a little bit but makes it a nice, chill spot overall."
"The place is very nice, lots of table and chairs. The food is ok and the price is a bit high, Philly steak sandwich with fries costs $19.00. Parking: need to go thru the gate and get the ticket, which you can validate at Hangar24 so you don’t need to pay.(it’s right next to cashiers and you do it yourself). It’s a bar where you order at the cashier, they give you a number, you choose where to seat N they will bring the food to you. It’s a great place to hang out with friends."
"So to find this place was rough. I did a few loops and was getting frustrated. No signs by the road. That would’ve helped. Once I got here it’s a neat place. Parking is free, they validate it. Great atmosphere, it’s the typical order at the counter and they bring it out. Lots of different beers on tap and the food was great! Airplane theme throughout. Also weird side note. The bathrooms are very different. Separate stalls that are multi gender and then you share a sink. There’s also one sink off to the side if you don’t want to stand next to someone. All mirrored doors and I feel like it would be hard to figure out if you were drunk!"
