"A Fantastic restaurant and an instant classic. I will be back here many times. They specialize in Japanese curry and the menu is focused. They have all types of options - vegetable curry, seafood curry, squid curry, chicken or beef katsu curry. Don’t get the spicy teriyaki fried chicken though - it was neither spicy nor teriyaki flavored not crunchy. More of a weird butter flavored red sauce? I had the chicken katsu curry and the chicken katsu udon. Both were very good. You can also choose spice level and add many toppings. I recommend level 4 spicy if you want a mild but light spice, level 10 if you want actually spicy but still enjoyable. Beyond 10 I think it would overwhelm the curry flavor and just be spicy. To finish we had the pudding which was like a flan. Very very good and not too sweet. It was just the right amount of viscosity and chewiness with a light syrup. I highly recommend this place!"

"If you have ever lived in Japan and miss Coco's this place did not disappoint. Restaurant is small and has a 20-30 minute wait list but more than worth it !!! The flavors were on point and the service was pretty fast as well. This place will be the reason I come to San Diego."

"Very nostalgic as I've had curry when I visited Japan, loved the food and service here brought back some good memories and food was awesome. Restraint is not huge and you need to arrive before or after lunch hour rush to beat the lunch crowd as the curry is good. Service was fast and attentive. I plan on going back!"

"The food is here is incredible and the service was great. I ordered the pork cutlet and the breading was crispy, meat was cooked wonderfully. The dumplings were crispy as well. Curry was a bit spicier than expected but still great- ordered Thai tea, which can be hit or miss, but it was delicious as well. Service was fast and the waitress was super kind. Can’t wait to come back!!"

"Got the popcorn shrimp, clam and tomato curry with rice. Shrimp was well cooked and delicious. Would have preferred less sauce and more rice personally. But overall a great comfort food for a cold day. I liked the spicy terriyaki chicken even more. Was sweet and spicy."
