"First off, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If this review comes off as negative, it's because of the dishware and not the staff. The staff were excellent. On to the food. I asked what kind of tea was offered, and was told, "hot green tea". Imagine going into an American restaurant and asking about their soda selection, and being told "cold sodas", or a French restaurant with "chilled wine". It is just not particularly useful to know when considering food pairings. Is it a sencha? Genmaicha? Jasmine? I didn't try the sushi, but ordered a bowl of udon. Flavor and composition-wise, I prefer my own homemade udon, being from an Asian background myself. But that's not important, I ordered the chef's udon, and that was his udon. I didn't order my udon. My problem was with the bowl. The edge of the bowl was slanted. It's hard to explain, and I've never seen anything like it, so I included a picture. Now, go and Google "slanted bowl". Do you see any pictures of the bowl containing soup? No. Because it's not a bowl you serve soup in. And again, the bowl is slanted. Where do you rest your chopsticks when you're not using them? The chopstick rest, which wasn't available at the restaurant. Otherwise, across the dish/bowl with your food. Except the bowl is slanted, so the chopsticks roll right off. Where am I supposed to be resting my chopsticks? Seating was honestly fine, it wasn't a large area, but there was some single seats up front and a few larger tables. It's about what I'd expect from the establishment."

"Not a good place for regular sushi. All specialty rolls are deep fried, so hard to get something that’s not fried. Ended up ordering their classic tuna roll for $12 and this is what I got. 4 pieces all of differing sizes and cuts."

"I had some really great philly rolls here. They make them exactly how they're supposed to be made with salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. The food here is excellent and the service is great. We love the atmosphere here and the people here are very nice. New ownership and new pricing. This is a great small mom and pop sushi bar. Fountain Coke products, beer, no veteran discounts."
