"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Robin, a sushi Omakase restaurant in San Francisco, and I can confidently say it deserves a solid 5-star rating. The overall experience was nothing short of exceptional. Firstly, the restaurant's modern design creates a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. The sleek decor adds to the overall appeal, making it an aesthetically pleasing space. The ambiance is intimate and romantic, making it an ideal choice for a special evening or a celebration. Now, onto the highlight – the food. The Omakase experience at Robin is a culinary journey that surpassed all expectations. Each dish was meticulously crafted and showcased the chef's dedication to quality and innovation. The flavors were a delightful symphony of freshness and creativity, leaving a lasting impression. One standout dish that stole the show for me was the fois gras sushi. The combination of rich fois gras with the delicate texture of sushi rice and the subtle flavors of accompanying elements was a taste sensation. It exemplified the chef's ability to marry traditional sushi with inventive culinary techniques. In addition to the impeccable food and ambiance, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and added to the overall warmth of the experience. Robin is undoubtedly a gem in San Francisco's culinary scene, offering a perfect blend of modern design, intimate ambiance, and outstanding food. If you appreciate sushi and want an unforgettable dining experience, Robin is a must-visit destination."
"Second ever omakase, first one being in Japan, so I don’t have a lot of experience to compare it with. Went here for a friend’s birthday and we were hoping to get counter seats but didn’t. If that’s what you want, see if that option is available when doing your reservation or give them a call. The seats next to the glass wall are too close to each other and I could feel the guy behind me moving a lot, with his chair bumping into me, it was distracting. Other than that, the ambience is not too bad and service was smooth. No long wait times in between servings. As for the food— there was a good variety in flavors (some citrus flavor in one, truffle in another, some heat in another, hint of watermelon etc I thought it was very creative), and combination of textures. The cuts were small, but I prefer that and getting more variety vs the other way around. Not a fan of not having a menu though. The price is sliding scale from $109-$209/person which others already noted, and you don’t know what you’re getting. You can however “add more”, or “scale back” but you still wouldn’t know how much more is more (and who knows if they forget to serve you a dish, which happened at another restaurant I went to recently)."
"My hubby took me this place for our anniversary diner and I have to say this was one of the best omakase places. We did 210 $ omakase courses and every single dish was mind blowing. The fish is amazingly fresh and other ingredients are meticulously harmonized with different types of sashimi . If you choose 210 $ course dish, I don’t think you will be still hungry after the end of the courses as the portion is not small overall . We also tried various sakes and plum wines and they paired well with courses . If you enjoy sophisticated and fresh omakase , I highly recommend this place !"
"The omakase was incredibly thoughtful and meticulously prepared. Every ingredient held a high standard of quality and integral dimension of flavor. Not only were each crafted dish impressive, the staff created a seamless dining experience. Our chef, Tai, made our special occasion all the more memorable. You will not regret having a meal with the members at Robin!"
"Amazing creative omakase. We ended up doing the sake omakase too and honestly, it's a ton of sake for $75 each. Food omakase was $210 ish each and so worth it. The flavors were really fun and highly recommend sitting at the counter if you fancy some interesting stories and conversations with the chefs. Each dish was beautiful and truly felt like eating art. Finished out the the most amazing coconut milk foam with cacao chips and plum wine. Now almost a week ago and I'm salivating thinking about it."
