Reviews
"Some friends and I ate at Spice of America on Market Street last week. We had read the great reviews and were not disappointed. The food was all tasty with complex flavors, although the two dishes with red sauce were supposed to be different, the sauces tasted very much the same. Still no complaints. Everything tasted fresh. I would go back here."
"I read great review here. Knowing that it's always a risk. Just like Yelp. Never know the truth till you got there. This is a great disappointment, again, based on Google review. I went for the Thali. It's $29 (not $12). The server said there's a lot of foods. So I shared with a friend. The taste were alright. It's more than a spoonful (small sauce dish) of 5 items of different ying-yang foods in a metal (cafeteria-type) serving plate. The portion is barely enough for one child. Let alone 2 adults, for $29 plus tax and tips. Foods are alright but I have 10x the value and maybe slightly better foods in many Indian buffets of $16-20 per person. Read the good reviews. Go for it. Expect a good experience!!!"
"It was not busy but we’re not sure why because this place was phenomenal!! Best Indian food in San Francisco. We got vindaloo, chole baryana, and chicken tikka biryani. Plus we got the fry bread and naan and I cannot say enough good things about how delicious it was."
"I tried this place on a workday lunch break. From the outside, I couldn't tell if the restaurant was in business at first glance. There were no other customers during my time there. They had traditional Indian music playing and the very comfy seats made the atmosphere rather cozy. I'm usually very sceptical of the quality of dishes because I am used to strong tasting food. But when I took my first bite, my senses came alive! The spiciness was topnotch and I was immensely impressed. I had to walk back to my office without my jersey on a cold day; it was that good."
"Nice presentation of food and the service, servers were extremely good. The food was good but lacked salt and spices. We tried the thali and the butter chicken. The paneer was really good."
