Since 1964, Bart's Books has been serving the community as the world's largest outdoor bookstore.
With a collection of over 130,000 new and used books, ranging from rare out-of-print finds to popular paperbacks, there is something for every reader at Bart's. "One of the most impressive bookstores I’ve ever visited, hands down. Its stunning location, stemming from an original residential home that has expanded to take on the entire lot is something to truly behold. Mostly dealing with used books, you find an incredible collection of not only single books but categories of books. My favorite area was the art annex and I managed to purchase some amazing vintage books in great quality for the fraction of their original prices. That’s something you wouldn’t expect from a bookshop in an affluent neighborhood! It’s completely overwhelming by its sheer amount of space and literature that it was hard to focus on any one area. Had I not been interested in art, I’m not sure I would have purchase anything at all since I couldn’t keep my concentration on any one location. But it’s a beautiful sight to see and a must visit if you’re in town. And you can’t just help want to support it and feel good that you’re actually reading something that has history and not a backlit screen."
