Ichiban Sushi

"I love coming here because of the service. Sushi in the area is usually hard to find. Their quality and authenticity is admirable. The wait staff is very warm and doesn't rush you to order, like other places do. I only marked down on atmosphere because it's a hole in the wall that should be preserved this way. I don't need it upscaled to meet trendy vibes. You can't go wrong with any of their sashimi! Sorry no pictures, we ate it all up."

"Food was good chef was nice until the end when my husband paid the bill and put a small amount for tip on the bill, the older lady with glasses got mad and snatched the bill out of my husbands hand then went to the back where the chefs were and started laughing and speaking out loud of the tip. I felt very uncomfortable, I didn’t get to finish my food so I asked for a to go box a bag and they were ignoring me. This is so wrong of how they treat customers that been coming to this restaurant for years. They need nicer waitresses."

"My family has been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. The food and Chiefs have been excellent, but the service is poor, especially the older woman who doesn’t allow you to finish your meal and tries to pick it up before you’re even done. She is very rude and disrespectful. She should be embarrassed, asking people for a tips.. If you go to this restaurant, please expect to pay a $45 tip. Please be prepared. Do not be shocked.. it’s a shame they have these type of people working for this wonderful restaurant. I wish they hire new people with a positive attitude. It will make the atmosphere and experience wonderful for new customers.."

"I had the Philly rolls here. I also had gyoza, miso soup and iced green tea. The Philly rolls were quite good. The gyoza ok. The miso soup ok. The iced green tea looked weak but it was good. However the refill looked good but wasn’t too good. It wasn’t packed but you could feel a good vibe. Service isn’t that great even though they are friendly. They have a mid sized parking lot. I’ve been here before and will come back whenever I’m in Downey."

"Fresh food and a clean environment. We were greeted at the door and sat quickly. I highly recommend the oyster shooters here. The husband thoroughly enjoyed it. It was somewhat expensive but sushi usually is. We had seaweed salad, Alaska roll, hot tea, 2 beers, 2 piece jumbo scallop, 2 oysters, 1 oyster shooter and 4 baked mussels for $79. I am eating the leftovers right now. Mmmmm."
