Reviews of ROL Hand Roll Bar
"Great hand rolls, food and service! These are the kinds of rolls where the seaweed is toasted and then quickly prepared one by one and served to you. They have some easy pre-set menu combos that have a variety of hand rolls which makes it easy if you want to try different hand rolls. I went here specifically for the rolls but on the menu they also had Kaisendon which is a bowl with different fish proteins (salmon, shrimp, scallop, imitation crab, roe and more), cucumber, seaweed and rice. You eat it but leave some in the bowl before finishing it and they add a broth to it so it becomes like a soup. It's like having two meals in one and it's so good! It was a much bigger bowl of food than I had anticipated so I would recommend sharing this or only ordering an extra roll or two if you're super hungry. It's a really good value for the quality, variety and amount of food you get. The service was also great. You can add yourself to the wait-list on the yelp app and while the estimate was off at the beginning it wasn't too long of a wait. The person making our food was super nice and I felt like they had great timing for bringing out the food. The server was also so sweet. She gave good recommendations and even offered us some soda to go. Overall, I think this place is great for quality, service and variety. You can order some foods on the lighter side like rolls or get a full, satisfying meal in the items like the Kaisendon. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area."
"First of all, since it's a sushi bar type of restaurant, the wait was long. We waited almost 1 hour for it. The food here I would say is not bad. I would recommend the spicy tuna & salmon crunch and the bowl that in my picture and I forgot what it is called but once you finish half of the bowl, they will fill it with what I believe is Miso Soup and it tastes amazing after that (might taste a little bit weird at first but the more you eat the better it gets addictive). Anything that is crunchy in here is freaking good. That's it. The rest are average. It might sound weird to say this but the water here is really good unlike any other restaurant since I believe that they have their own water filter system which makes it taste like real water, not disgusting tap water. The service here is absolutely nice. I love the host guy (don't know his name but he is bald ... sorry bro) as he is very friendly and energetic which brings you positive energy and makes you laugh."
"Finally made it to this hot spot after hearing so many rave reviews! We were seated quickly for lunch and had a great date. We did 7 rolls each plus cucumber salad and tasty sweet lychee sake. The rolls were crisp and filled w delicious fillings. I've never been to a hand roll bar so it was neat how they bring out one at a time. Would have given 5 stars but no one offered some kind of secret sauce, that my bf told me afterwards is a must! I guess I'll have to come back!"
"The seaweed from Japan is really fresh, smells good, and the texture is good when you eat makki. And rice. The rice, which is important in sushi, was seasoned well and the temperature was well matched, so it was very good for seaweed, sashimi, and seaweed overall...Especially Ooni and caviar. The maki made of Toro melted and disappeared the moment I put it in my mouth fantastic. It was a very satisfying meal."
