"The Mentai Cream Sauce Udon was amazing! Super creamy and savoury, the regular sized portion was more than filling. The restaurant was clean and the service was quick, the only minor downside is that it's quite draughty inside. Would highly recommend nonetheless!"

"I came here with a couple of friends for lunch today and the food was delicious. I had the Tonkatsu Udon and almost finished the entire bowl. The shrimp tempura was cooked to perfection and everything was hot and fresh. The staff was great and accommodating and the restaurant was nice and clean. We sat in a booth so it felt nice, quiet and private. Thank you for the great lunch!"

"Great presentation and interior - I think that’s what makes everyone feel like they are getting better food than what it is. The food itself is so-so. Mental cream udon is super salty. Other soup based udons are pretty salty too. Corn tempura is nothing special."

"I had really high expectations of this place. We ordered the mentaiko udon, tempura udon and yaki onigiri. The mentaiko arrived promptly within 10 min but, waiting another 15 min and I inquired about my very simple order. They brought out a lukewarm plain udon without tempura and very soft broken short noodles. it takes 25 minutes for the vegetable tempura is what they told me. And they even forgot the dipping sauce until I asked for it after I almost finished it. The only highlight was the tempura was actually very good. But the udon was horrible. Service was friendly the entire time but still there isn't an excuse for why it took so long and the broken noodles tasted like defrosted from frozen noodles are not worth the premium or additional costs. Oh yeah, yaki onigiri was also very bad as in it was undercooked and mushy inside."

"I visited the one in Mountain View first and loved it, so I was delighted to see one in San Jose when I was here. Ended up here for dinner. Because it’s a chain restaurant, I expected it to have the same quality of taste. It did. Udon Mugizo didn’t fail my expectations. This restaurant is bigger and more well decorated than the one in Mountain View, but still giving the same warm and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant was quite packed, so we waited for 10 minutes. The staff were fast and attentive though. And they were very polite. I even saw one bowing to customers when they left. For the food, great quality, as expected from an udon specialized restaurant. We ordered one Nabeyaki udon and one Niku udon. The broth was so warm and delicious. Both were very savory and big portions, too."
