"After calling in and then telling me my food would be ready in 15 min, then showing up in 20 min. I still had to wait 30 min inside next to the register, while I asked repeatedly if it would take long then I could wait outside. All I kept getting back was it will be ready in 1 minute. Finally after an hour from me calling in and waiting there, my food was finally done. 15 min turned into an hour and they wouldn't even talk to me except for saying just one minute for 1/2 an hour."
"Popular and authentic southwestern Chinese Yunnan regional cuisine. Known for Crossing-Bridge Rice Noodle 過橋米線. We went as soon as it opened. There was a long line of diners waiting when we finished our lunch. We were politely asked to leave as we finished our meal because so many people were waiting. We ordered: 4*Crossing-Bridge Rice Noodle 過橋米線 included hot broth, rice noodles, vegetables, and meat. I added hot chili sauce for better taste. 3*Fried Dairy Fan 大理炸乳扇: it was precooked and served cold. I wouldn’t have ordered it if If I had known that. I like fried food served hot. 4*Fried Wild Boletus 油炸野生牛肝菌: it was the real McCoy, authentic and delicious, but the portion was very small."
"Regular rice noodle. It tastes ok but I don’t think it is exact authentic Yunnan rice noodle. We also tried the Yunnan local snack: fried milk curd. It is crispy and has abundant milk flavor and a little sourness to it. It is made of goat milk. Be sure that you are ok with goat milk before ordering. The last thing was chicken cooked in steam pot. Avoid this dish. It is extremely small and I don’t love the taste."
"The "crossing bridge" rice noodle is pretty tasty. Note that for take out orders they charge 10 cents for the bag and also $1.50 per soup container. The Yunnan fried cheese is pretty good at the restaurant but it does not work well as takeout because it is best eaten hot and it loses heat really quickly. For takeout, I ordered 2 orders of the crossing bridge rice noodle and one order of the Yunnan fried cheese worked out to be a bit over $50 after tax. It was a little higher than I expected but it was due to the combination of inflation and also the charge for the soup container."
"Looking for an authentic Yunnan Style "Crossing the bridge rice noodles" Spot in Bay Area? Cloudland Rice Noodles definitely your choice!! Everyone has his/her own type of comfort food when his/her need to nourishing the tummy and soul. "Crossing the bridge rice noodles" is my comfort food when I craving for noodles soup. Little bit background about "Crossing the bridge rice noodles": The rice noddles usually serving with a large bowl of hot broth and soup ingredients including raw veggies and light cooked meat. The server will pour all the ingredients into the hot broth bowl when delivering to the table. Once added into the broth, it cooks quickly with a layer of melted chicken fat and oil glistening on top. What we usually ordered: "Crossing the bridge rice noodles": The classic!, the soup is sooo yummy and the rice noodles are so soft. Fried Yunnan cheese: you cannot find in other places. It's very interesting to try the salty Yunnan cheese with cane sugar! Tasty! Fried Wild Boletus: Yunnan ppl love mushrooms, and they excel the mushroom to a higher level. Best company w/ rice noodles. Overall: Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 The restaurant usually very busy and packed during the dinner and lunch time and they lack of staffs, so they don't have enough time to prepare for the side dishes. Sometimes, they would run out of what they offered on the menu."
