"I ordered their assorted sashimi bento. The food is decent but to me the portion was a bit small compared with the price, but it might be because I ordered sashimi. I looked at other bento dishes and the portions looked right. The ingredients are really good though."
"Ideally, I'd give this place a 3.5 Ambiance: Cozy and intimate, the low lighting and wooden accents create a relaxed atmosphere. The small space fills up quickly, so be prepared for some noise and close quarters. Service: The service was on point. Our servers were very attentive, friendly, and courteous. Food: 6 Kinds of Sashimi: Fresh and beautifully presented, the sashimi was the highlight of our dinner. Except for the chewy octopus, each piece melted in the mouth, showcasing the quality and freshness of the fish. Tongue Grill: This adventurous dish was a textural delight. You grill the meat at your table. I wish they had some sauces to go with this dish rather than just the salt. Salmon Kama: This fatty marinated salmon collar in yuzu zest was cooked well, falling off the bone and offering rich, melt-in-your-mouth bites. There were quite a few bones in this dish, so be cautious when eating. Tori Soba: This dish was very disappointing. The chicken was a bit dry and lacked luster, and the broth had some bitterness to it. Hokkaidon: Hokkaidon was on their "today's special menu." It consisted of Hokkaido uni, Hokkaido scallop, and house marinated Ikura over sushi rice. For $32. We were expecting a decent portion of uni, but it wasn't much. The uni's creamy sweetness complemented the scallop's delicate flavor and the ikura's pops of briny richness. However, as I mentioned earlier, the portion size definitely felt small for the price. The bowl was mostly full of rice. Overall, Leichi is a decent restaurant. It's a small restaurant, so make sure you have a reservation before you go there."
"Stopped by Leichi since it is close to me now that I've moved. Made a reservation a few hours before. Two of us ordered: -tako wasa $9, pretty good appetizer -sashimi 6 kinds $35.50, decent variety -nankotsu $9, chicken cartilage, really enjoyed it -nasu dengaku $9.50 egg plant, definitely avoid, almost too saucey to eat -tongue grill $15, fun to have a grill come out. Tasted ok. Overall decent meal. Will want to try their treasure box in the future. Parking is easy to find in the plaza."
"Great Izakaya spot in Santa Clara! My bf and I came here during lunch time with a reservation on yelp. The spot is hidden in the corner of a plaza near the popular brunch spot Bloom. We ordered the Hotate Uni ( Hokkaido w/ uni) , Harasu (grilled salmon belly), the lunch bento w/ grillwd mackerel and of course the housemade soba noodles. Stands outs were definitely both fish dishes as well as the soba noodles! Both fishes had that crispyness that mark a good izakaya and the soba noodles had a great firm texture and nutty taste. Service was kind and efficient. Note if you are looking for skewers, you may want to save this spot for another day as they focus more on small plates. However if you are looking for great homey spot with izakaya plates, I recommend this spot!"
"The food quality is excellent, and the Japanese alcohol and food menus have many items to choose from. The parking is easy to find, and the waiter and waitress are busy but friendly. The dining time is restricted for about 1.5 hours for our table."
