"Omakase sashimi were great. Small but cozy place."
"I really wanted to find a niche place to hit my sushi craving. Sadly for me this place left me wanting more. The sushi rice lacked proper seasoning so I had to soak it in soy sauce. I did find the fish to be great quality. The server was rushing us to order but we needed time as we are not familiar with the cuisine and there were no pictures we had to research what to order. We loved the oolong tea. Sushi was the big let down. Btw the places smells like a fishery so try to be seated outside."
"Hidden Japanese gem in Cupertino! Small, quiet, authentic sushi restaurant. I followed the enticing aroma of the wood burning barbecue and discovered Sushi Kuni. I had their two item combo with beef teriyaki and sashimi, which included three generous pieces each of white tuna and Maguro tuna on a bed of finely shredded radish with a nice dollop of wasabi. The tunas were both melt in mouth tender with only the slightest touch of fishiness. Very pleased with how fresh the Sashimi is. The succulent and tender beef teriyaki was served on a bed of mung bean sprouts, which was a delight in itself. And I couldn't help ordering a side of Yakitori chicken, which looks absolutely as moist as it tastes! I am so glad that I found Sushi Kuni. I can not adequately describe how absolutely delicious it is and how pleased I am with this first meal!"
"Outstanding Japanese food. Only complaint is that we arrived almost an hour before their stated close time and were rushed through the whole meal, being told we had to order everything we wanted almost as soon as we sat down. We will go back, but this time it will be at least two hours before close."
"Kind of unique, restaurant is in a structure by itself, with outdoor seating set up in the front, entrance on the side. Has been around for over 20 years, but changed owner 3 years ago. My first time here. Salmon skin salad was so so, skin was not crispy, kind of fishy. The deluxe nigiri was pretty good, but the rice was a bit too sticky. The Agi tataki was the best, fresh! Service was excellent!"
