"Met friends for family-style dinner. Service is exceptional, food is prepared fresh and tender. Beef fried rice, ribs, beans, etc were all good."
"Decent food, nothing spectacular. Price is reasonable and service is good for Chinese restaurant standard."
"This Cantonese restaurant is unique in the sense that it does not offer free tea like other non-dim-sum restaurants. I saw there were tea pots in the neighboring tables so I thought it would provide one to us for free. And I told the server to give us a pot of tea. Instead she gave us two cups with tea bags, which obviously are not free. Then she told us the customers at the two other tables brought their own tea leaves with them. However the pot of hot water is free. I have never seen a Cantonese non-dim-sum restaurant encourage customers to bring their own tea leaves. An old guy was leaving the restaurant when a server stopped him for under -paying. Apparently he did not wait for the bill and just left money he thought was enough. What he missed was the charge of the cup of tea - $2.85. He said " I have never seen a (Cantonese) restaurant not offering free tea ". I certainly agree. Dim sum restaurants may charge something like $2 per person for tea, but it is generally accepted that non-dim-sum restaurants offer tea for free."
"Bay Garden Cafe truly stands out among its peers as it captures the essence of authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine. Unlike other cafes with similar names that might fall short on delivering the true flavors of Hong Kong, this establishment exceeds expectations. The breakfast sets offered at Bay Garden Cafe are undeniably good deals. The star of the show for me was the grilled chicken with egg dish. The chicken was expertly prepared, with its crispy skin adding a delightful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the tender and flavorful meat underneath. This dish was a true testament to the kitchen's skills in delivering a well-executed and satisfying meal. Another highlight of the breakfast set was the classic Hong Kong macaroni soup. This dish is a staple of Hong Kong's comfort food scene, and Bay Garden Cafe's rendition did not disappoint. The soup was hearty and comforting, with the macaroni cooked to perfection and the broth rich in flavor. While the Hong Kong milk tea, a beloved beverage in the city's culinary culture, wasn't as robust in tea flavor as I had anticipated, it didn't overshadow the overall experience. It's worth noting that milk tea preferences can vary widely, and what might be considered a strong tea taste can differ from person to person. The attentive and prompt service further added to the dining experience. The staff's attentiveness and efficiency contributed to a smooth and enjoyable meal, making the visit all the more pleasant. The interior decor of Bay Garden Cafe was a breath of fresh air. The brightness and cleanliness of the space created a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining ambiance. Furthermore, the convenience of ample parking in the back of the restaurant is a practical advantage, particularly in areas where parking can be a challenge. All in all, my experience at Bay Garden Cafe was highly satisfying, and I'm eagerly anticipating my return visit to explore their dinner offerings. The cafe's commitment to delivering authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine, combined with its attentive service and inviting ambiance, makes it a noteworthy dining destination."
"There is lots of parking in the rear. The food is very good and portions are generous at a very reasonable price. Service is actually decent. There is a breakfast menu which is a great value. It does take some time for the food to come, but when it does it is nice and hot. Condiments like chili, soy sauce and vinegar are not available on the table. If you want condiments, you will need to ask. The restroom is clean."
