"RAW FOOD! Be very careful when you eat the fried baos. This is our third time at this place and we were surprised to find one of the fried baos completely raw on the inside. The staff acted like nothing happened and offered to recook our dish. That’s fine, but I’d never come here again."
"Authentic Shanghai food that is nowhere to find. It’s famous for its pan fried buns (生煎包)but there’s a lot of authentic Shanghai stuff. We ordered glutinous rice Shumai (糯米烧卖) which is a rare find. They are bite size tasty dim sum that’s popular in Shanghai. Pan fried buns are good, and the only suggestion is if they could make the bottom crispy instead of stiff. Duck with glass noodles(鸭血粉丝) is also good. Wonton is okay, tastes like food you could get in Shanghai, not too much surprise. 鲜肉月饼 (meat filled pastry) is also nice and a rare find, and a good timing to celebrate the moon festival. Next time we’ll probably try scallions braised pork loin with noodles, which is also a rare find (and an authentic dish in Shanghai). The dining tables are somewhat casual."
"The best 生煎包 I’ve had in Bay Area. The menu has many traditional Shanghai style entrees. Though the business looks not big currently, there don’t have many staffs in the restaurant besides the owner. Also a lot of seating are not available indoor. I wish the store could be more popular. The food was absolutely top quality."
"Best 生煎包 in the bay. Best Shanghai style dumpling in the bay area. Very good dough thickness, good crisp bottom, holds juice well. Could use more scallions on top. Stuffing perfect flavor. We found spicy wontons good but with a bit too much vinegar. Cucumbers very good. Can be hard to spot in mall area, not next to Lion market but further left where other restaurants are located (small sign primarily in Chinese). Best to pay in cash, does not accept cards below $25. Highly recommend."
"Pan fried dumplings are a must-order - I’ll definitely come back for again just for those dumplings. They are crispy on the bottom, yet soft and juicy with soup inside - 6 of them for ~$8. I ordered takeout of the pan fried dumplings, which took around 15 min. Credit can only be used when >$25."
