"Two stars, because the service advisors are really friendly and polite (5 star), but they lied about the service needed and tried to sell me ~$1000 worth of extra service items, which I need to do urgently (0 star). I declined all. Here are the 3 thing: 1: brake fluid flush. “The fluid is very dirty and needs to be replaced” Facts: they didn’t even bother to remove the cover and look at the reservoir. Nicely covered with uninterrupted layer of dust. Surprise, surprise, the color is almost identical to the new fluid in the bottle. And the moist leave test shows less the 1%, which is good. 2: hybrid battery cooling system maintenance/ cleaning. Facts: probably didn’t bother to remove the vent cover, otherwise they would have seen that the fan blades are clean. (Hint: I vacuum/clean the filter every 5 thousand miles) 3: mass airflow service Facts: they didn’t check it (based on the dust on the outside) I’m a bit OCD and change the engine air filter every 5 thousand miles. But for good measures, I looked at the sensor, and guess what: perfectly clean. So to sum it up: I’m not sure with the new location they had new people and/or management, but I had absolutely no issues previously at their old location. So Dear Toyota Santa Monica, don’t be greedy and please don’t ruin your good reputation by turning into one of those dealers where people only go when they really have to, or just don’t return. And please: don’t lie."

"Worst customer service experience ever. I am a long time Toyota Santa Monica customer, in 20 years I've five cars from them and an additional Toyota from a different dealership but I went back to Toyota Santa Monica because I believed them to be a better situation. They sold me a certified pre-owned 2020 Corolla and in a matter of two months the battery started dying daily. I spoke with them because the battery was from 2019 and I felt that in 2024 they should have at least replaced the battery and given me one that didn't start dying repeatedly. Their answer to me was "batteries are not covered". That was not the issue. The car was certified pre-owned and they sold it to me with a bad battery. I called numerous times probably at least six times and could never get a return call from the sales manager I spoke to, Hector. Each time he was either needing to speak to his service manager or some other person, each time he said he would get back to me and he never did. Not a single return phone call. Subsequently I went online and put in a request for a call back from Toyota Santa Monica and never got a call. Obviously they are not concerned with maintaining loyal customers. It is incredible to me that after my history of buying Toyotas from this dealership they are okay to lose a customer like myself."

"Service adviser Arturo was a great guy but I never called back/replied of my repair status so I had to do a physical visit to SM Toyota every weekend for 2 months from October 2023. I have heard tons of excuses from the service at every physical visit. One day, when service guy Arturo was off again during my visit, these terrible frustrating circumstances made me talk to the Parts Dept. directory. They were not shared with my issues from the Service so I had to order the parts by myself which "I really don't have any knowledge" under a very very unfriendly demeanor/atmosphere felt like an AWAY, not like a HOME especially from Edwin. *I called the parts in advance. He asked me A REFERENCE. Am I calling a Law Office?*  Toyota cars are always great, reliable and SO GOOD at selling. Once purchased, the service and the parts, strongly disagree to recommend. After Waiting for 2 months, my car was not repaired. Thank you very much TOYOTA SANTA MONICA. I enjoyed the rental cars non TOYOTA."

"Recently purchased a new 2024 rav4 xse. We put a deposit down and told them we did not have time that day to do the contract. They said it had to be done on the spot. We were forced into purchasing previously installed dent removal and windshield protection. Also we were told that the car alarm system could not be removed as it was previously installed. I spoke with the technician this morning and they said that nothing was installed on the vehicle. The finance manager was extremely rude, made us feel like we were inconveniencing him and we had to rush back to get to work on time. Nothing about this experience was professional and they tacked on three bogus charges on the vehicle. On the surface this dealer is very clean and new but the experience is where you see their true colors. Not a dealer I would recommend. When I called and spoke with a sales team member they said this stuff happens . Enjoy your car !"

"Had to bring my car back in after it's first service here because I had a pop up saying the car was due for service after I had just picked it up. Also had a warning of low washer fluid. Was a hassle to bring it back in, but they filled the fluid and reset it quickly. My issue is, if they're missing this basic stuff during a service, what else are they not doing that they should while servicing my car? I would definitely avoid bringing your car her for service, or even considering buying a car here as their markups are insane (10k over MSRP was what I was quoted while car shopping). I have since moved out of Los Angeles and have been servicing my car at a competent dealership."
