"Did a walk in, last Saturday, at around 6.30pm. No seats at the bar were available. Earlier this week I booked a table for two for Thursday. When we went, we got our table 15 mins before the time. Food service was quick. Yes, the server did ask us to place all the order upfront (some of the other reviews mentions this). But since we didn’t know the portion size we said we will order it later. We ordered - pav bhaji puff, Dabeli paratha, drunken pani puri, a couple of drinks and malai kofta and cheesy garlic naan. Dabeli paratha was meh. I have had better tasting Dabeli before. Drunken pani puri was also a let down. We could taste a hit of alcohol in the end but the stuffing was underwhelming which was made of potato and onion. But. Cheese Garlic naan was a killer. That’s the 4 stars for. That and malai kofta were top notch. The best ever one I have had so far in the Bay Area. The bhaji in pav bhaji puff was amazing. The light green on top was quite tangy and went well with the bhaji and puff. The drinks were very good. !! Overall, I will definitely visit but this time it will be for just the naan and malai kofta."
"I had a blast here! My friend is fond of this place and does not hesitate to hide her impression on this place. We ordered so many dishes and we can't find any dull or boring dishes. Each dish is unique and bold. I found that many Indian restaurants put the food to the edge without care. That can make food taste awkwardly spicy or pungent but flat in other ways. Another approach I have seen successful is to make food mellow and blended which I thought it is wonderful. Yet the restaurant decided to take food flavor to the edge yet don't feel awkward at all. The food presentation and order of serving show the perfectionism of this place. At the same time, the staffs are warm and considerate, not pushing us to over order, and give a lot of good recommendations. You can clearly see that the restaurant put a lot of thoughts and effort in the food (even the flower decoration on the cake is edible and pickled/soaked with syrup.) Definitely a special place that we would love to come back and bring friends. PS: Try the tumeric pickle!"
"Delicious with beautiful presentation. They’d like you to do the $75 prix fixe menu but for three people off the a la carte menu they recommend sharing three appetizers and three entrees plus rice, naan, and chutneys. This would have been too much food for my group but I do think they are charging quite a lot given the off the beaten path location and casual bar atmosphere."
"This restaurant was on our to-go list for a very long time. Finally got a chance to visit. We had lunch which started a few months ago. Very limited options for lunch as the owner himself explained it takes a lot of time to prepare lunch items. It's westernized Indian so don't be disappointed. The taste was different from our regular Indian food but it was good! I very much liked the Masala beans given along with Puris. And Shreekhanda cheesecake won the show! It was very tasty. We decided to visit another time for cocktails and chat. Price wise food is very expensive."
"Really fun dining experience. We eat Indian food a lot, but were totally lost with this creative menu. I think you can probably just pick anything & it will be delicious. It would be nice to have 3 or 4 people to share things with, so you could try more dishes. Cocktails are really creative & well made too!"
