"Shopping in JCPenny is comfortable. The store does not have too many people, even during the holiday season. The store does need some maintenance. I'm not talking about a major remodeling. But some touch up will be great. I find many lights blinking on and off inside the store at almost all the departments. This should be an easy fix! The store looked clean, and the parking lot wasn't too busy."
"made an appt 2 days prior to get family photos. arrived and waited 20min before anyone greeted us. took 90min before we were even set up, then were quoted $850 for the photos. won't ever do this again."
"Firstly, we arrived 15 minutes before our appointment time and had to wait about an hour for our session, even though we scheduled a morning appointment. Then, I asked our photographer to take photos of the waist up and almost every photo included the waist down. Also, she said she was going to take 4 pictures of our newborn, 4 of the siblings and then the remaining pictures of the rest of the family, but I instead requested she take 3 individual photos of our newborn, 3 sibling pictures and then the rest of the family for the remaining pictures (as that was our focus). She agreed, but then continued to do it her way! I don’t understand why the photographer (Lizzy, I believe) didn’t do any of our requests when we’re the ones paying for the photos. At least the photos were cheap (which is why I rated 2 stars), but I see why."
"Do not trust what they tell you. I needed to buy a suit (dress shirt, dress jacket, dress pants, belt) , so I called ahead and asked what the refund policy is regarding suits. The lady that I spoke on the phone with (who did not give me her name) said that "yes. You can return suits and dress pants and belts" So I went ahead and bought everything I needed, which came out to $232.72. Before I finalized the transaction, I had asked the cashier, whose name was Karen, if I could return the suit in case I didn't like it / didn't fit. She told me "yes you can. " I tried everything in the fitting room, and at the time, everything felt great. But after actually wearing the suit for a whole day, the pants and jacket were really tight and uncomfortable. So I went back to JCPENNY 2 days later, to return the suit. Keep in mind I saved my receipt, along with all the tags to everything, and brought it with me, along with the original hangers and bags that they gave me. I had everything I needed in order to return the suit. When I arrived at the Returns Desk, 2 employees stood there and talked to each other for 5 minutes before realizing / acknowledging me. When I told them I wanted to return the suit, they looked at the suit for 1 second, and told me "We can't return this" When I had asked why, they told me "it needs to have all the tags with it" When I showed them that I had all the tags and extras that the suit came with, they told me "It needs to be attached to the suit" When I attempted to explain to them that I had called and asked about that return, and when I asked the cashier about the return, no one had ever told me that I needed to keep the tags ON THE SUIT in order to return it. They responded with "I'm not sure who told you that, they must have been new, but all our employees talk to each other, and that's the policy. " Then the lady "who had no name tag" pretty much threw the receipt on the counter, while the guy (who also did not have a nametag) put my suit on the counter. They then proceeded to walk away from the counter and kept on talking. They didn't even attempt a resolution. No store credit? No exchange? No gift card? Just a "no you can't return this" ? And since when is that a policy? To have to have the TAGS ON the suit? You want me to go to work with tags on everything JUST to be able to return something? Every other retailer accepts returns with a receipt, some even without, and I don't know of any store that needs you to have the TAGS ON the item in order to return it. The biggest thing that upsets me is that I HAVE BROUGHT THE TAGS WITH ME. They can simply put them back on with their tag gun. But no, it has to be on the item. Now I'm out $200 and have a suit that doesn't fit. Save your money and go somewhere else. Scam artists during the holiday season."
"Havent been shopping at JC Penney in years. I wont be back soon! As soon as I entered this store. I was followed. I felt so watched. I didnt look too bad.... I wasnt dressed my best and i wasnt dressed my worst. I had enough so I decided to go and pay for my items. As i did, the loss prevention/ undercover security, Inched their way up behind me to the register, . I paid for my items, And just as I was leaving, i pulled out this $$$ and said to the cashier, By the way, tell your security officers that they Didn't have to follow me all around the store because I can buy anything whenever i want it. They made it uncomfortable for me to shop here. They need more training. She looked at them and apologized to me. I walked out."
