TOGO'S Sandwiches

"Slow lunchtime arrival and order taken promptly. Both sandwiches came up as ordered right away. Ate in with light reggae music at an appropriate level playing. Had a very good regular roast beef with cheddar. Companion had Ham and Swiss that she says was also good."

"Did takeout of a wrap plus a cold roast beef sandwich. Wrap was fine according to my wife. First bite of the sandwich was.... odd. After a second bite I figured out that the roast beef seemed to have a lot of chewy gristle. The taste was ok enough but having to chew through each bite put me off. I will call this strike one and maybe strike two and see in the future how things go. I've had this sandwich maybe 5-10 times in the last past, and this was the 'worst' one yet. Short leash... one more like this will likely be the last time we come back to Togo's for a takeout meal."

"As I've said on other reviews. I like pastrami. Who doesn't? I've had a love/hate relationship with Togo's from my first experience in the 1970's in Citrus Heights until the present. It seems that the chain has difficulties between providing quality and providing less expensive sandwiches. Every few years, prices go up, and quality with it. Then it appears they choose not to raise prices again, and quality decreases for a few years until they raise prices again. I've enjoyed Togo's pastrami sandwiches (#9 and #10) for many years in many locations, but at this time, it seems that they give you a lot of bread, and not much in the way of filling. Honestly, I'd rather pay a bit more and get something with a bit more beef. But on the other hand, what you do get it fairly good. I say 3 stars. Attached is a picture of one of their #10's front and back. Lot of bread, not much filling. But reasonably tasty. From 12/6/2019."
