"Azul Mexican food and tequila bar is the perfect Sacramento Taco Tuesday spot. It is the premiere destination for tacos and margaritas. Their motto is, "to bring authentic Mexican food and modern contemporary style". I would say, mission accomplished. A warm plate of tacos and a refreshing strawberry margarita is the perfect way to celebrate Taco Tuesday. The service was efficient and friendly. All orders are made at the register. There isn't any table service available. The cashier made suggestions on tacos and our waters were refilled in a timely manner. This is a great taco Tuesday date spot. Enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa with a margarita while getting to know each other. Then order a couple $1.67 tacos. If the date is going well, play pool or throw axes at The Smart Axe. "The food here is quite tasty. At this price point it’s definitely worth trying. I had the Birria tacos, which were delish. I like the garnishes as well, cilantro and minced onion and limes and a molé sauce. My lunch partner had the mahi tacos and said they were solidly good. The little bag of chips were made fresh in house and had a nice slightly smoky flavor. He reported the margarita as “good - it tasted like more…” Definitely worth trying."

"This is a fun little spot in midtown Sacramento. On the weekend. It is right dead center in the middle of the farmer's market. During the week. It's a great spot for a casual lunch. The food is solid here. The prices are very fair and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. I would recommend it."

"DINE AT YOUR OWN RISK‼️ Pros: They accommodated our party of 10. The food was delicious and was served in a timely manner. Our bill for 4 people was $63. CONS: The service was shockingly HORRENDOUS. I bought an horchata drink for my 12 year old daughters. Not realizing that the table was extremely wobbly and unstable; their friend got up using the table to help herself up...and the table tipped. The horchata spilled. No broken glass. We started to clean it up ourselves. But Jenny, the supervisor on staff, was visibly not happy about having to clean it up. Then, when we kindly asked for a replacement horchata drink, she absolutely refused to give us one. My husband pleaded kindly for a replacement. Her response: "Our policy is no refills. It's not our fault you spilled the drink." My husband said: "Please, the table was unstable, and it tipped. We'd like to give your restaurant a good review." She staunchedly refused. Then I kindly pleaded with her. I said: "Please, this is our first time here. The food is delicious, we would like to come back again. Please give us a replacement horchata." Again, she refused, saying: "It's not our fault your daughter spilled her drink. We don't give refills." I calmly and kindly said: "This isn't a refill, it's a replacement. It's not our fault that your table is wobbly. It was an honest accident." Jenny offered to give us a soda as replacement. I kindly said: "We bought an horchata, please provide an equivalent, my daughters don't drink soda." She was so aggravated and so annoyed. Jenny begrudgingly gave us an horchata replacement. If she could have thrown it at us, she would have. She was absolutely flaming livid. I've been to hundreds, if not thousands of restaurants in my lifetime; all over the world and all over the US. Never once have I ever been refused a replacement drink if it was accidentally spilled. Especially if the table was extremely wobbly. To the Azul owner, manager, supervisor, & staff: "Why risk and sacrifice a lifetime of business and endless referrals, for one $3 drink? Before we left the restaurant, we tried to make nice with Jenny, the supervisor. Our group of friends said goodbye & good night. We tried to thank her. One family gave her an additional $5 tip in addition to their original tip. Nope. Jenny was not having it. Jenny was extremely rude, her face was scowled, she didn't even look up to acknowledge us. Our bill was $63, plus tip. Our friends bill was $48 plus tip, plus extra $5 tip. Our other friend's bill was $62 with $15 tip. We gave them $173 worth of business plus generous tips. Jenny could not find it in her heart, based on customer service, return business and human kindness...to give 2 twelve year old little girls, a replacement horchata. We will NEVER come back. And we will NEVER recommend this place to our friends and family."

"As passing travelers, I appreciated the warmth of the location and staff. The food was gentle and yet full flavor. We had the shrimp salad and a fish burrito which between two people was just the right amount of food. If in the area, one should stop by! Prices were reasonable, but parking can be challenging."
