"Soup really no flavor And the Japan sliders stay away from them no flavor as well .( I ended up with food poisoning. And have been sick for 3 days .) I usually don’t get these but wanted to try something new . Very sad and waste of my money I am going to stick to the soup dumplings and garlic green beens they have flavor this review is to save someone the pain I went through . Luckily they let me replace the slider and I got rice"
"This is a good place to dine if you’re passing by the area. The food was good though everything did not came out fast due to number of customers. Be careful with the broth-filled dumplings, they are hot. Taiwanese beef noodle could use some more flavor. Overall service was good."
"This is the second time coming to this Reasturant we were very happy and had loads of flavor bomb in our mouth both veg options and non veg options. Their black bean sauce was awesome their mushroom bun was something we did not expect amazing food"
"better than din tai fung? i don't think so. but decent chinese food and xiao long bao if you're passing through elk grove? yes. i've heard a lot about journey to the dumpling and decided to try it on the drive to tahoe. we came around 12:40pm on a tuesday and there was no wait. service was fast. // xiao long bao (8 pcs for ~$14.50) // i didn't realize but this comes out to be more than DTF's price per XLB. the xiao long bao here is quite big, definitely biggest ones i've had. the pork is a good portion size of filling and they are juicy. the dough skin was too thick for my liking--i'm not sure about other reviews who say it's thinner than DTF. overall, a solid dumpling though and the best dish we got. // sheng jian bao (pan fried pork dumpling) (6 pcs for $13.50) // these baos were much smaller than expected. they are pan fried so have a good crisp to them, but i found the dough to be too thick so unless you eat them right away, they kind of get hard. the pork was very juicy though which i liked. // chicken chow mein ($~13.95?) // the portion of noodles is very big, generous serving size. good amount of chicken and comes with flat chow mein noodles. it tasted good, but was very salty - definitely more salty than chow mein should be. overall, i'd recommend journey to the dumpling if you come at a non-busy time like a weekday lunch. it's decent chinese food for the area, especially if you don't have a DTF near you. however, not sure i would wait in line for an hour like some reviewers have mentioned..."
"Came here at opening on a Sunday, people were already waiting outside! By the time I ordered, nearly all the tables were full. I got the XLB and they were great. Thick, chewy wraps and the pork was cooked perfect (not overdone). I also had the tan tan noodle, solid but nothing too special."
