524 Mexican Food

"Great authentic restaurant. Long standing restaurant in the Sacramento area and that is not by coincidence. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The staff is friendly and quick. The food is flavorful and good size servings. I was hoping for pastor but they didn't have any during my visit. The employee made sure to check before taking my order. The carne asada was a great alternative. The wet burrito has an excellent sauce. My three criteria for judging Mexican food, 1. Enchilada sauce 2. Pastor 3. Rice. This restaurant is a, will visit again. Bonus was the soup they serve everyone. Vegetable noodle soup. Great broth and flavor. Chips and salsa were good. The pico de Gallo has a nice kick to it from the jalapenos. The other salsa was the perfect spice both seasoning /flavor and heat."

"Not impressed. Feed was average at best. Portions were not generous for the price. The soup was terrible. Beans flavorless. Rice ok. Carnitas portions are very small and not well seasoned. Seating old and uncomfortable. Dinnerware plastic. Would not go back"

"524 has an amazing selection of food. But what is at the top is the menistroni inspired 524 soup. The ceviche is also top-notch. Staff is friendly and this is a generational restaurant. When was here mom and son where. They took some time to tell me the history. The atmosphere is amazing, relaxed, and inviting. They have a great selection of salsas the tamitio is among the best I have had. This would be great first date or a date night for married couples."

"So welcoming by the staff. Chips & salsas are brought to the table upon arrival. Each meal comes with their house soup, as well as beans, rice, and salad. They also have a full bar. Authentic Mexican food, perfectly seasoned, is a staple here. Highly recommended."

"This place it looks good on the outside, Bad costumer cervice We order a plate of chile relleno, she asks "one or two"? I says two please,on one plate, then I order the quesabirrias plate, When si reds the order back 2 us, we clarify the we one two cheles rellenos on our plate, The she gave me a look like I was playing, So we moved on she gets it, One quesabirrias order One chile relleno whit two or one extra chile relleno, We started eating, our order was warm, it fell like was warm on my microwave, The one chile relleno was missing, When I iasked she say we use different chile we don't use poblano,, the I say yes but there is one poblano a d the other just egg, the she say sorry but they use difret chile, mind you we were both speaking or native language Mexican Spanish, So we pay and we aren't coming back for sure"
