Tofu House

"The food is mediocre. We like the food at the other Tofu House on Convoy and thought the food would be as good at this Tofu House in Mira Mesa. Nope! We were wrong. The main dishes were below average. One of their condiments, looked like fish cake, tasted as dry as sliced cardboard. Next time when we crave for Korean food, we'll drive a bit further to Convoy/Kearny Mesa for much better Korean food experience."

"Service is always fast here. We were seated quickly upon arrival. They bring out 4 banchan dishes right away. The waiter took our orders and brought out our dishes soon after. They only give you one free egg per dish. We both liked our seafood tofu soups with the nutty black rice and banchan vegetables. They closes early at 8pm."

"Food portion is small and the taste is plain…they are not tasty or rich in flavors. Its not worth a 2nd visit. The meat is not fresh like outdated/expired food. 17 bucks for the soup itself and 20 buck for the meat. Kind of $$$ for the amount provided."

"Returnrd here with my wife for a late lunch on a Saturday. It was not busy and we were seated right away. We were serviced quickly, getting our food and drink order. We got our banchan, which most were tasty; the kimchi lacked flavor. We ordered hot stonepot bulbogi crispy rice and japchae. Both were good; a little lighter on flavor than the previous time. The environment was clean. They had some pop music playing overhead, but again loud enough that you could still have a conversation. We would come back again."

"First time at Tofu House but don’t think I will go back again. Food is just OK, edible. The hot tofu soup looks like just water a few bite. I can make better tofu soup at home, haha. Not much of service. I don’t consider taking the order and bring food to the table as good service. That is just the bare minimum service. Nothing is free there. Water is bottle water which costs $0.50. They would bring to the table 2 eggs without telling the customer that one is only allows one egg per hot tofu pot. The other egg is $1 extra. They would also bring your check with just a total amount without itemizing. Terrible!"
