Reviews of Bonchon Convoy
"Best Korean Fried Chicken is what I searched for in the Google search. This place popped up as #1 in Korean Fried Chicken. It is not the best Korean fried chicken. They didn't have boneless chicken and so we ordered the medium chicken tenders half soy garlic and half spicy. They both were spicy and couldn't taste any soy or any garlic. The sauce was very minimal. Some parts of the tender had no sauce on them. Korean Fried Chicken is well known for the crispness. These were floppy tenders. Disappointing to say the least. We ordered "Seasoned" fries. The fries were seasoned with parsley and parmesean cheese with no seasoned salt at all. They were so bland like their chicken. The one thing that we did like was the Bulgogi Tacos. 3 tacos for $14. They were very flavorful and I would buy those again, but don't ever plan on spending my money there again. Service was good as well. Music and ambience is good too. Too bad the chicken is just chicken with no Korean-style whatsoever. I would recommend KnockOut Chicken instead. They serve their food Korean-style with lots of sauce that is sticky, that gets all over your hands and face! Bonchon had no sauce dripping anywhere at all. Had to get the food to go as I didn't want to be there anymore because the food was disappointing. Even though the food was bad, I still gave a 20% tip because it's not the servers fault. I just had my son try it, as I'm writing thus review, and he said Wing Stop is way better..."
"The sides portion is disappointing. These sides are designed to serve 4-6 people as their menu says but sadly it barely serves 2 people. When I ordered last time a few months ago, the sides portion were double than the ones we received today. The fried chicken are still good tho"
"This Korean fried chicken is absolutely fire! Literally the spicy will give your tongue a nice burn, but still soo flavorful! That why I got a half and half order. Half spicy and half mild. Both are extremely delicious. These chicken wings are very big and meaty as well. When you bite into it you will get a beautiful crunch followed by some juciy chicken meat! Don't forget to order a side of fries and Pepsi to complete the deal!"
"Service was outstanding. They have such a friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the 20 piece wings, half soy garlic/half yangnyeom. Both flavors were delicious. Yangnyeom was a tad spicy for me, but it was manageable with the pickled radish. The seasoned fries were crispy and flavorful. Japchae was just average, but that's totally fine since they specialize in wings and that was awesome!"
"Definitely a nice relaxing Lunch. Came on a Wednesday and stayed for dessert. Had to try the Kkabaegi. Basically cinnamon and sugar twisted donuts. They where perfectly light, airy and Delicious. See the photos, as they where much larger than I expected! 4.99 for 2 and another .99 cents for the cream sauce. I was not too particular about the cream sauce but it was worth a try. The flavor to me seems like the milk after eating a cinnamon cereal. Smooth and creamy though so worth a try for yourself. Now on the the actual food!. I ordered the half and half chick wing lunch special. The spicy was infact spicy. The flavor was good but was a little bit too spicy for me after living in Utah for the last few years. It is definitely a Korean Spicy though. The other is the soy garlic sauce you read about in all the other reviews that also lured me into this fine establishment. It was very good. Definitely sweet but the flavor was excellent. I normally do not care for sweet sauces but would have this one again. It is that good. The main thing that impressed me though is the light and airy fry batter on the chicken. This fried chicken will not leave you feeling sluggish with their fried chicken. I ordered the season fries with my meal and they where perfectly fried with crispy outside and soft potato inside. I will say do not expect a Cajun or other seasoning. Their season fries consist of Parmesan cheese. I fully intend to come back to try their tacos and sliders at some point."
