Shawarma Shack 2015 Garnet Avenue, San Diego, CA 92109

"4.5 stars. This is a great fusion of Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine. On a Sat afternoon, it wasn't too busy but if the parking lot in front of it is packed, parking could be a problem. I got 3 Shack tacos with gyro, chicken shawarma and the falafel, the shawarma wrap with their spiciest sauces, and a bunch of toppings including the jalapenos, and the side of falafel. The tacos were the best of them all - falafel then gyro then chicken shawarma. The gyro was a little too salty for my liking but the chicken shawarma didn't have enough spice on it, so that's why I preferred the gyro to the shawarma. The falafel was easily the best of them all as the falafel was soft and crunchy and actually complimented the tabouli salad, feta and the tzatziki sauce. The tacos are corn tortillas but they feel a little more like rotis. The wrap was very filling. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked despite choosing the spiciest sauces and the jalapenos. The side of falafel was very tasty. The falafel wasn't too dry but not too oily. I had initially decided to give them 5 stars. However, I had to downgrade to 4.5 stars because the tortilla and the wrap got really soggy very quickly. So, they fell apart more quickly than I would've liked. The salty gyro and not so spicy chicken shawarma were my other reasons. I loved my whole experience and I will definitely be back to eat more of your shack tacos for sure!"

"Small restaurant serving Mediterranean food where you order from the counter and find a table to eat at. Almost full at lunch time on a Saturday. Food is reasonably priced and the wraps have a lot of tender meat (we had beef kebab, chicken tika, and beef shawarma). The garlic paste was tasty, if you like it."

"This place is everything PB needed. The owner, Rheme (sorry if I misspelled) made sure everyone was taken care of. She should be enjoying her weekend, considering the late Friday night I met her, bringing the vibes and good energy, lol. Try their pistachio baklava, if you have any room left after scarfing down their fireeeee Shawarmas. I’ll be backk"

"First time dropping by to grab a quick lunch. Bought a chicken wrap and a Shawarma combo rice plate. Both were very good. The rice was moist and the meat was just right. Great service, parking is limited. Will be back to try other dishes."

"Last night we visited this local, casual dining spot we'd been meaning to try for a while. I sure wish we had gone sooner! With all the terrible service, bad attitudes and bad food quality from so many restaurants that never recovered from the pandemic times, this was a breath of fresh air. Great food and friendly service. Nicole was behind the counter and was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a traditional gyro and a one of their beef shawarma tacos just to give it a try. My other half got the salad bowl with gyro meat and an assortment of toppings she had to choose from. The taco was amazing! It was served on a corn tortilla topped with tabbouleh Wish I had room to eat more. The gyro also good and the salad was large and fresh. We will definitely go back to try some more of the items."
