Reviews of The Fishery
"Nestled within a restored mid-century warehouse in North Pacific Beach, The Fishery beckons seafood enthusiasts with its promise of unparalleled freshness and culinary expertise. As you step into this gastronomic haven, you're greeted by the sight of a premier seafood market, setting the stage for the feast to come. The open kitchen buzzes with activity, as talented chefs meticulously craft dishes that celebrate the bounty of the sea. From the delicate ahi tuna poke, kissed with soy sauce, sesame seeds, and chili, to the hearty cod burrito brimming with crisp-fried fillets, rice, beans, and guacamole, each creation lets the quality of the ingredients take center stage. Our dining journey began with appetizers of steamed clams and scallops crudo, both bursting with freshness and flavor. For the main course, we indulged in a variety of fish dishes, each more delectable than the last. The macadamia nut-crusted halibut boasted tender, succulent meat infused with nutty richness, while the Chilean sea bass melted in the mouth, its flaky texture a testament to its freshness. Even the fettuccine with seafood, a standout from the Valentine's Day menu, left us swooning with its exquisite flavors and textures. But it's not just the food that captivates at The Fishery; the rustic, wood ambiance of the dining room sets the perfect stage for a romantic evening. Whether you're sharing a meal with a loved one or simply indulging in a solo culinary adventure, The Fishery delivers an unforgettable seafood experience that will leave you longing for more. It's no wonder locals and tourists alike flock to this culinary gem in the heart of San Diego."
"This was my first time here which was a shock because I love seafood and I frequent the PB area specifically for great restaurants. The ambiance was great, and we had a seat outside with heaters so it was perfect. It's strung with lights and the staff members that served us were friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu. They answered a few of our questions and gave recommendations. We got the Pacific swordfish and the macadamia nut crusted halibut. Both were cooked to perfection, with delicious sides and sauces. We also got the poached Mexican shrimp but unfortunately forgot to take a picture! Everything was delicious and I will definitely be returning. Had a hard time deciding because the whole menu sounded great!"
"I picked this restaurant randomly from google map during my visit to San Diego. Surprisingly it’s one of the best seafood restaurant I ever tried! Everything is delicious with nice details. I literally liked every course! The service is good too, friendly and caring. 5 star plus recommendations!"
"Came here for the first time today, and it was delightfully surprising how good it was! The place wasn't busy at all, which I found odd, but the service was outstanding and the food was super good. The clams with saffron linguine were absolutely to die for, and the drinks were super unique and delicious. Would recommend if you're in the area!"
"Fresh & delicious seafood! The seafood tower was an excellent choice, I recommend getting the “grand” version. All the items are so fresh & tasty. The white fish spread was our favorite. We choose multiple dishes to try and share. I recommend doing this, since there so many good dishes. Since the restaurant is also a market, you can see the different crustaceans and fish options inside the restaurant."
