Lola 55

"This place has such a cool vibe going on. We chose this place because it's on the Michelin Guide, and seriously, the cooks appear eager and ready to make delicious food. Everything was clean, and the food was made to order with flavor that left an impact. I'm definitely returning for more, we tried five tacos, beans and rice but my favorite item was the quesadillas Oaxaca. Eat and order here with confidence."

"I visited Lola 55 for lunch today and had a great customer experience! I ordered the steak taco and it was the best taco I have had in a long time. The owner Frank spent time with me sharing his experience in the restaurant business and making me feel at home. They have not been open long but I am sure once discovered, they will have a line at the door. A must visit place if you are hungry and looking for good food! I will return soon. They also have a great outdoor patio."

"My wife an I adventured here for an after church lunch and WOW were impressed. The fish tacos are good, the chicken tacos were yummy, but the star of the show was the perfectly cooked carne asada taco. So much so Good. We will be back and bring friends."

"Absolutely fantastic food and drinks! I had the steak taco, the mesquite chicken taco and the ceviche and honestly both tacos are some of the best I've had in California. The ceviche was fresh, delicious and the chip it chips it comes with is bomb! There is some heat (spice) associated with this place, so know that going in, but my wife is super sensitive to spice and she cleaned her plate, so it wasn't as spicy as some other reviews have described. Personally, I can't wait to go back and try more!"

"Lola 55 in Carlsbad brings an aura of promise with its enticing cocktail menu, but sadly falls short on the food front - especially given the price point. The cocktails are handcrafted and do not disappoint in flavor. However, the food leaves much to be desired. The children's quesadillas, strangely, are accompanied by spicy rice - definitely a questionable choice for young taste buds. The accompanying beans lack seasoning, making for a bland side dish. One of the major letdowns is the cold corn tortillas, which serve as the base for the rather petite tacos. While the ingredients seem to be of good quality, the portions are small, reducing the taco experience to merely two bites. For a bill of $70 that included just four tacos and two cocktails, the overall experience was regrettable. A place with so much potential, Lola 55 unfortunately doesn't deliver where it counts the most - the food. I won't be returning."
