Reviews of Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters
"I recently dined at Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters for brunch, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend trying their smash burger, which was incredibly flavorful and satisfying, perfect for a brunch indulgence. The crispy Brussels sprouts were also a highlight, offering a crunchy and savory complement to the meal. What impressed me the most was the efficiency of the service—I was seated quickly, and the food arrived promptly, allowing me to enjoy every bite without waiting long. The servers were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters is definitely a place I'll be returning to for another fantastic dining experience."
"I can’t believe I haven’t shared a review for this place yet - maybe I want to keep it away from the masses but the food is just so damn good I can’t gate keep anymore. I’m not vegetarian but the veggies dishes are a 10/10. I’ve been here several times now and the thought behind every dish tantalizes your senses. Something simple like the corn bread is executed to perfection. With that said, save room for dessert and check them out - they’re menu changes seasonally… oh and the service and ambiance are great too. My hat off to the kitchen"
"We had a fantastic group dinner here. The food and service were both outstanding. I had the scallops as my main dish (pictured). We all shared the brussel sprouts, carrots, and rolls and they were all delicious."
"I had high hopes for this restaurant, especially since it was our second visit, though this was our first for a full meal. The service was pretty good, although our server appeared a bit overwhelmed by the bustling crowd and large table of 10+ that he was also attending too. We opted for the mozzarella sticks, carrots, and chicken cutlet to share. The mozzarella sticks were impressively large, delicious, and could easily feed the whole neighborhood! These are easily some of the best I’ve had. The carrots also turned out to be a highlight. The spices and sauce elevated them to a must-try item on the menu. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse with the chicken cutlet topped with fried egg and salad – it was nearly raw, something we only noticed halfway through eating the dish. While we didn’t make much of a fuss about it other than politely pointing it out when the waiter came to check on us, they did take the dish off of our check. That said, it is the next day and i am still feeling the “aftermath” from the amount of raw poultry we ate. This really soured what was otherwise shaping up to be a great dining experience."
"If you haven’t been here yet you’re missing out. A real gem in La Jolla Shores. We enjoyed every bite and sip. Oysters were fresh. I tried all four and preferred their house oyster. Crispy shrimp is a must. Entrees we had were the scallops (perfect) and the trout, which was the best I’ve had in ages. And get this: the waiter talked us into the wood fired carrots and they were amazing. Who knew carrots could be so good. We had a peach pie for desert. We’ll be back to try everything on the menu. Service was excellent."
