Reviews of O SEA | seafood for thought
"Very impressive seafood restaurant in the heart of oldtown orange. I'm not a huge seafood person myself, but I would eat here everyday happily. The fish here is prepared so well and is absolutely delicious. Lots of options and everything we had was just top tier. They also have a very extensive drinks menu and lots of local craft beers. Staff was also really good even though it was a really busy Saturday night. Can't wait to try this place again."
"1 star for the atmosphere. 1 star for the service, and 1 star for the freshness of the food. However, the food was bland and mediocre, and portions were really small for the price we paid. I had high hopes for this place and had my Valentine's Day lunch here. We ordered 5 diahes. The oyster was very small. The cioppino was decent but the shrimp and fish in it were too tough and stringy. The dish of the day black cod was again small and the fish was so undercooked it was so watery. The ceviche was ok but again came with very little fish and chips. Lastly the salmon skin handroll the rice was undercooked and tasted like something you get at a convenience store. The restaurant wasn't even busy when we were there so we were really disappointed."
"O Sea has quickly become one of my absolute favorite seafood restaurants. I’ve been coming here since they opened and the experience is incredible. The staff is really nice and knowledgeable and the quality of their fish is top-notch. I just had a special black cod dish (pictured) that is one of my favorites they’ve ever created. For dessert, the thai tea blondie was to-die for!"
"My journey to discover a seafood restaurant that resonates with my palate led me to this charming establishment, where the freshness of its offerings and the skillful preparation left a lasting impression. Osea's Happy Hour provided the perfect introduction, with a menu that tantalizingly hinted at the broader culinary prowess of the restaurant. The Cioppino, which I was compelled to order twice due to its sheer deliciousness, emerged as the star of my dining experience. Each piece of fish in the Cioppino was meltingly tender, a testament to Osea's mastery in seafood preparation. Despite the broth being a tad sweeter than my liking, the quality of the seafood transcended this minor discrepancy. The Ceviche, with its clean and healthful taste, showcased a minimalist approach, allowing the natural flavors of the seafood to shine through. The accompanying taro chips, though slightly overcooked, added a thoughtful crunch to this subtly flavored dish. However, my experience with the oysters was mixed. One arrived with half its shell missing, and my favorite, the Kumamoto variety, was out of stock. This was a slight disappointment, as the full enjoyment of oysters lies in their complete presentation and the slurping of the briny juice. The Tuna on Rice was a comforting dish from the Happy Hour menu, though it could benefit from a bit more spiciness to elevate its flavor profile. The service at Osea matched the high quality of the food. Attentive and efficient, the staff ensured that the dining experience was as smooth as it was enjoyable. Their professionalism significantly enhanced the overall ambiance of the restaurant. In conclusion, Osea has not only met but exceeded my expectations for a seafood dining experience. It stands as a rare gem in the area, reminiscent of the high-quality seafood experiences I've cherished in New York City. It’s a must-visit for seafood aficionados!"
"Went here a while ago for happy hour, so this is a belated review. The food is really nice. The oysters are great, and the octopus was one of my favorites. And don't forget the wine, never forget the wine, very very good! Service was really good and friendly as well. We will be back more often!"
