"Ordered hardshell taco and red chicken enchiladas. If you want authentic Mexican food this is not your spot. The hardshell taco is not freshly fried there, and downgrades the taco even further. The rice was not authentic either. The sauce on the enchilada was decent."
"Tacos were just average, but gave it 2 stars for value. $5.50 for 1 taco is a bit overpriced. The green tortilla was good, but chewy and hard on some spots. Could use another minute on the plancha to make it softer. Asada meat was ok, but lacked flavor. A good price point would be no more than $3.75 per taco. Probably won't return. Back to Tacos Gavilan I go."
"OMG. Get thee to Taco Mesa and thank me later. This place is The Bomb for local, fresh Mexican food in the Costa Mesa and Newport Beach area. This is where the locals go if they want it fresh and fast and tasty good. Moderate prices, plenty of free parking, and specials every day. Love it!"
"Loved the chips and variety of salsas + the patio on a beautiful day. I came on Taco Tuesday and tried the $2.50 Shredded Chicken and El Pastor Tacos. Both were were good; not great. They filled them with ample protein and the ingredients were fresh. I'd skip El Pastor in the future as it was fatty. But, I'd come back to try other things for sure!"
