"Hi guys! Its the beginning of the year! New years will soon be here for Chinatown. So we decided to go visit our beloved spot. It's been a while. I just want to say how decorative this restaurant is! I love all the lanters, chandelier details they have. Very nice atmosphere for a Date or for Family time. We were welcomed in by 2 women. They were full of smiles and hospitality. They guided us to our booth. They started us out with Tea. We love the menu lots to choose from. We chose fried rice, Orange Chicken, egg drop soup and one other item. The fried rice was delicious. I asked to make the Orange Chicken Crunchy. It was cery great breading, with a slither of chicken. Very tasty! The egg drop soup had a good amount of ingredients with the perfect amount of broth. I really liked that the Service was Friendly! They dont hesitate to check up on you if you need something. From beginning to end they offered us different things while we visited. They even boxed up our food & soup! This restaurant does have a 2 stall bathroom for the ladies. Also has a bathroom for the men. You can buy fresh juice at this location. Thats one of the things i liked about it. We were able to eat in peace, and enjoy a family meal with No problems. Very Positive atmosphere, with beautiful Art on the walls. I would recommend this for family, friends and date nights! Enough seating to go around for everyone! Im sure there is street parking. But like anyplace downtown you have to find it close by. You can also take a walk on the chinatown strip to see cool stores for food, local bakeries, Herbal Nutrition products, And fun items and souvenirs to remember your trip! From what the women told us Chinese New Year Event is February 10th. They have something around Noon to late night hours. I hope if you do visit you check out Hop Woo! I know you'll love it."
"The food: Not that good. Duck came out cold and the lobster had little meat. Fried rice was passable, but the chow mein wasn't too bad. Duck was also very boney. The service: Not good. Strictly business and don't make an effort at all. The atmosphere: Tons of decorations, passable. Restrooms were dirty."
"Food- The food is bland, too fried and overcooked. We ordered the seafood platter, everything on the plate looked dry and brown (probably from old oil) Their hot tea is good. Service- It took 30 minutes for the waitress to ask for our order, I had to call for their attention. The waitress never returned, also forgot 3 orders. Atmosphere- A lot of families, appears lively in here. The staff was nice. I rated a 2 because the bad food overshadowed every aspect of the experience at this restaurant."
"Honestly, this place was quite delicious. This is my first time eating duck so it was OK but the chow mein rice steak veggie mix was really good and I’m sure all the other common dishes were really good as well. I would definitely come back here atmosphere was nice environment was nice. The parking is a little crazy because it’s Chinatown in Los Angeles in general but other than that, I enjoyed our experience. There’s dozens of place to eat at, but we just happen to choose this one and I was happy with our choice."
"I would've given this place a 1-star review but the only issue that we faced was from one worker. The other workers were pretty nice to us and even helped packed up our food. My dine-in experience was decent and the waitress who waited on us was super sweet. But, when I went to order another order of chow fun to go, the woman who was working the register was sooooooo mean!!! She was extremely aggressive towards me. She got really upset with me after not being able to understand what she was asking through the muffled words caused by her masked face. She was talking really fast too! Then, when I asked for my receipt she annoyingly and angrily expressed that my receipt was with my change, which it was not. And when I pointed out that it wasn't, she aggressively put it on the tray with my change. The other worker must've felt bad for me and kindly handed me my change and receipt which was right next to her. Worst of all, I had asked multiple times to NOT add chicken, and when I got home, there was CHICKEN in the dish. If you go, try not to get yelled at."
