"This is a great Kava Bar, with the whole exception, is that every time I get a cloud at this specific branch, it’s very inconsistent and mostly has less. The staff is great. I just wish they were more consistent with the quantity of the drink approx half full as often its 1-1.5/4 filled. Especially considering it costs 11$"

"This bar and others like it is a cultural appropriative scheme designed by two Silicon Valley white guys who take indigenous Polynesian culture and peddle it to the masses, getting people addicted to kava and kratom and making dozens shell out hundreds per week here. If you're looking for somewhere "authentic" look elsewhere, hopefully a kava bar owned by actual Pacific Islanders and not just a caricature of the culture operated almost entirely by white folk. Kava is not meant to be consumed on a long term basis, no matter how much you drink. It's used primarily for special ceremonies in the Pacific Islands, but here most regulars drink it every day multiple times a day. And they're drinking the concentrated kava instead of traditional kava, which is more potent and dangerous. Long-term kava use leads to malnutrition, depression, dermatitis, liver and kidney damage, as well as other issues. And kratom can be just as addictive with terrible withdrawal effects. Not to mention Root of Happiness doesn't use compostable cups or lids, nor do they properly recycle, as that would cut into the CEOs' profits. Every night they're dumping a ton into dumpsters for the landfills, operating under the guise of appearing hip and sustainable, but that's only a facade. Don't be fooled."
