"Best breakfast burritos in the county! This place is famous for their burritos and they do not disappoint. I live down the street and frequently walk over for a quick breakfast. The staff is very friendly and greet you with a smile when you walk in the door. The food is great and always flavorful and fresh."
"Love everything about this location! Food never disappoints! Great service and feels just like home."
"I’ve been getting burritos from Somis Market for 40 years. I know lots of places have increased their prices in the last couple of years, but this is wildly, inappropriately expensive for a spot known for breakfast burritos. I’ve never walked out of here without a burrito in my entire life until today. Minimum 12 dollars for a breakfast burrito? 4 dollars each for soft tacos? I’m assuming the food is still tasty, but I can’t verify that since I’m not going to pay 12 dollars for a tortilla wrapped around primarily potatoes and eggs. No deals anywhere on the menu. I’m more than disappointed - I’m practically heart broken. I cant bring myself to 1-star them, but I wanted to. One of my all time favorite spots has immediately and permanently been erased from my list. There’s no way this is going to be sustainable for them. Talking with other locals in town about it, they all agreed and said they couldn’t believe how crazy expensive the prices here have gotten. I bet lots of locals who are infrequent but loyal customers show up, order their usual and then get a shock when the final price shows up only to steer clear from now on. So sad. Truly the end of an era. I saw other reviews (I’m assuming from independently wealthy customers) dropping the term “pricey”, but that’s quite the understatement. FWIW, I had plenty of money to get whatever I wanted off the menu, but I have that money only because I make financially sound decisions. And this place is not a financially sound decision. For those prices, I’d go out to a place I knew was more expensive already like a Mexican seafood spot or something. Oh yeah, 14$ micheladas too. For beer and Clamato with some salt on a glass. Get real. In an area saturated with amazing Mexican food, I’d rather go down the road a mile and get Establos (equally good food for much less), or sit down at El Tecolote and get a whole restaurant experience with amazing food and bigger portions for the same price. Sorry Somis Cafe, you lost the plot here."
"Solid Mexican food. Excellent service. Very nice staff. Small spot. Friendly service!"
"Fast & friendly service! Really good chili relleno burrito, fire salsa literally. The habanero salsa has a nice kick."
