"I've tried this place a few times now, and each time, I've been disappointed in that the food lacks flavor. It's always bland. Even something simple as a cheese burger had no flavor to it, just like their burritos I've tried. This place isn't for me. Super disappointed since I just spent $45 bucks there."
"A warm environment because the place is run by a family, I believe. The salsa bar features all their homemade recipes. Nice variety on the menu. The tamales are super good. There are two kinds of veggie burritos: one that is your traditional beans and rice and cheese, etc. and the other one is vegetables, stirfried like fajita style, and then tossed in with beans and rice, vegan. Both great and under $10. High quality food."
"I recently ate here while visiting my daughter and it was delicious. The shrimp taco on the homemade corn tortilla and the al pastor quesadilla was so yum and flavorful. The guacamole they make was fresh and creamy and I really enjoyed their avocado salsa that they provide for free in their salsa bar (I went through about 4 of them). My daughter also loved her veggie fajita plate. If I lived closer I would be here all the time!"
"TLDR: interior makeover, cannot make up for poultry portions and sad salsa bar. $8 for a bean rice and cheese burrito that was listed on their menu for $6? No chips with your burrito? Seems like this place is punishing non-meat eaters. For $.50 more I could’ve gotten a Kearny Asada or chicken burrito. That would have been bigger. Why are they charging premium prices for a BRC? Especially when there’s absolutely nothing to write home about it and barely any cheese? I’ve been going here since I was a kid at least getting Mexican food at this location. The salsa bar is depressing and it seems like the new management is more concerned with an aseptic interior than an authentic Mexican food experience. I really wanted to give this place a shot because I always just end up at Jim and robs but I guess that’s for a reason. They at least provide value for your $$."
"This is the second time I've gone to El Jarro. My friends said I had to try it. First offering was the al pastor burrito. Really good. Today I had them fix me up a chicken fajita burrito bowl. The chicken was spiced nicely I did add some of their hot sauce which was right there at the edge of my tolerance super yummy."
