Reviews of Prince Street Pizza
"It's extremely clean and it's refreshing to go to a pizza place where the floors and tables are not sticky. The crust here is incredibly rich and crispy. The flavor of the sauce ranges between sweet but it has the right fruity tomato consistency. While parking on a busy street is an effort if you can find parking in the rear parking lot it'll be easier to get a space. I really appreciate classic pizza shops that serve good pizza and do it well enough that they don't have to sell any other food stuff like cookies."
"Prince Street was my absolute favorite pizza spot. And I am so disappointed by this location’s quality. Something is wrong with this location, they need better employees who care about customer experience and their food. We got by the slice, spicy pepperoni and naughty pie. The slice was room temp even tho it just came out of the oven, and we ate it there. That just confused me, because what is the point of eating it there and by the slice if it’s not even going to be warmed properly. The crust that makes this Detroit Style is why this pizza is so popular. However, this crust was hard and stale and oily. I usually love the oily parts of this type of pizza but this seemed like a stale piece of bread sitting in oil. We came Wednesday before lunch and it was not busy at all. So I’m confused at why they could not produce fresh and hot pizza. I was curious as to why this location compared to WEHO has bad reviews, and now we know why. Like how is a pizza spot, whose only menu item is pizza, make bad pizza? It’s a no."
"For a journey centered around LA's most delicious pizza, Prince St. Pizza on Lincoln Blvd stands out as an exceptional choice. Situated within a mere three-mile radius of the enchanting Venice/Santa Monica coastline, this inviting establishment boasts a cozy ambiance and a diverse selection of mouthwatering square and classic slices, as well as whole pies. My visit to Prince St. Pizza took place just past noon on Wednesday, revealing a pleasantly subdued and tranquil atmosphere. The hospitable staff contributed to the overall positive experience, providing detailed explanations of the menu. They elucidated the nuances of the Yelp experience, presenting the option to savor either the Spicy Spring or the Prince Perfection. Opting for the Spicy Spring—a square pizza adorned with piquant tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and an abundance of cupped pepperoni—I also indulged in the Sunset Square, featuring 'sunset' marinara, fresh mozzarella, pecorino romano, and garlic. The pizzas were swiftly prepared, and I brought them home to relish. Upon opening the box, a tantalizing aroma enveloped the room. After crisping up the slices in the oven, the moment of tasting arrived. The Spicy Spring proved to be a square-sliced masterpiece, boasting a crisp crust, a savory sauce, and a generous portion of pepperoni. A touch of red pepper flakes and a drizzle of local organic honey served to harmonize the spiciness and sweetness, creating a symphony of flavors and textures that was truly sublime. Equally impressive was the Sunset Square, distinguished by a zestful sunset sauce, velvety cheese, and an explosion of flavors from the garlic. The crust, simultaneously crispy and chewy, enhanced the overall dining experience, prompting me to savor each bite as though it were my last. Without reservation, I assert that Prince St. Pizza stands among the elite pizzerias on the west side, offering authenticity, culinary excellence, and satiating portions. The pizzas are a testament to their commitment to quality, and the friendly service only amplifies the overall dining pleasure. Do not be dissuaded by the unconventional square shape of their pies; Prince St. Pizza is a culinary excursion worth undertaking for any pizza aficionado seeking a tantalizing glimpse of New York in the heart of Venice."
"Prince Street Pizza is not for me. My friend and I were excited to try their slices but we found them far too thick and the crust was undercooked on one of the pies. While the flavors are unique, they don’t have strong taste and we had to add sauce at home to make them taste better. If you like Detroit style pizza, I’m sure you’ll love this, but I much prefer thin crust and other pizza spots in town."
"I’m a big fan of Prince St Pizza. I’ve eaten at the original on Prince St in Little Italy, NYC and loved it. When I heard they were opening up in LA, I couldn’t wait to try it to see if it tasted the same. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The Pizza is identical to those delicious slices in NYC. Also, this location has plenty of seating and free parking behind the restaurant. The staff was very nice and I’ll definitely be back soon!"
