Reviews of Green Hills Barber Shop
"I just wanted to share my experience with the business owner in how kind she is! While I have never gotten my haircut by her (though she did my hair years ago!), I REALLY take it into consideration how business owners are with representing their community and themselves inside and outside of theur business. That's all!!! Wtg, Sara!"
"Dakota’s review below is spot-on due to the unacceptable nature in which their best and most personable barber, Allison, was terminated. Though I was not there to witness it, there is hardly any justification to verbally attack and terminate an employee in front of customers, as I have seen verified both here and on Yelp. Allison was more than an employee; she kept the place afloat, and now it’s left with two owner/barbers with unreliable schedules in a moribund location. I started going there almost 9 years ago out of convenience - I lived in Green Hills at the time - but it wasn’t until Allison came around that I went for more than just convenience, but because I genuinely didn’t think I’d be able to find anyone else who did as good of a job. And that’s why I kept going after I moved across town. But now I can’t bring myself to support a business where such unprofessional conduct occurs. The owner shot herself in the foot by terminating her best asset due to a lapse in self-control, even more so by doing it in front of customers, and I’m afraid this business is without a paddle right now. I don’t know everything behind the scenes, but I do know that I will personally vouch for Allison’s character, talent, and professionalism, and highly encourage you to patronize her at her new employer, Stylo, as I did today- her first day there. I’m glad fate would have it that I needed a cut right then!"
"**UPDATE** I've been a loyal customer at Green Hills Barbershop for over 7 years, thanks to the exceptional skills and professionalism of my barber, Allison. She's been cutting my hair to perfection. However, I recently learned that the owner exhibited discourtesy, rudeness, and an unwarranted sense of entitlement. Her behavior was nothing short of appalling. She verbally assaulted Allison, a seasoned professional with 18 years of experience. It was deeply unprofessional to degrade her in front of clients. She then terminated Allison for things what are flat-out untrue. This kind of behavior from the establishment's ownership is completely unacceptable. It's disheartening to see such humiliation inflicted on a daily basis. I'll be following Allison to her new location and can't recommend strongly enough that others do the same. Avoid this establishment if you value respect and professionalism."
"***STAY AWAY*** Read Below!!! This is my first post in a long time. I do not like to leave negative reviews as they are not always accurate. I loved my haircut! My barber was amazing, professional and actually been doing it for 18 years. I am very picky and don't let anyone cut my hair. The cut was the perfect Military medium fade I always got. Which, let me tell you is not easy to get! My problem is with the owner of the establishment. She was discourteous, rude, short tempered, entitled, sassy KAREN!!! From the moment I walked in she turned her nose up at me. Very rude! I just wanted a haircut. I'm sorry.. Next she made several passing comments that I heard and actually witnessed her assaulting verbally my barber. Degrading her in front of a client is VERY unprofessional. Finally, after my barber stops CRYING from the humiliation she just incurred, she received a post-it note to leave her keys. SHE WAS TERMINATED!!! FIRED for standing up for herself? What I witnessed blew my mind. The audacity of the ownership from this establisment shouldn't be condoned or tolerated. I refuse to go back and will follow that barber (Allison). It's unexceptable to have that humiliation endured on a daily basis. PRO TIP: Check out Stylo in West End by Vandy & Centennial Park."
"Went to get my 3YO boy a haircut and I am beyond happy with the final result. Sara worked fast yet very thoroughly, and my little one can't wait to go back. Great people and super cute spot, I would definitely recommend! Will go back for sure!"
