Bourbon and Barber - Men's haircuts, Beard Maintenance, Straight Razor shaves (APPOINTMENT ONLY)

"I went in for a wash and trim for my over shoulder length hair and talked for 10 minutes about how I had wanted to try long hair for a decade and spent the last 2 years growing it out. She showed me pics of shoulder length hair and "man buns" and She talked about how she has had bad experiences in the past and doesn't let anyone cut her hair but herself bc of trust issues she now has and I now understand as I left with hair shorter than I have ever had before. It started out like a normal trim taking just a few small snips but when she got to my ears it's like she got lost and started cutting more and more off, it's like my wavy hair confused her there since if not styled it flares out at the ends and she kept trying to cut those ends off which won't work till I'm bald. And then eventually she evened out my entire head to above neck, a meer 2 inch length hair (except in the front which is an odd mix of 2 inch and 3 inch). I am a rather passive person but I spent years growing this out and I know I stated how much I wanted to try long hair styles. I never imagined, even if it was butchered, that a my below shoulder length hair would end up above my neck in one sitting. I thought id be able to go home to my normal stylist for a correction if worst came to worse but... Stuck regrowing for 3 years probably this time. Hopefully I still look ok, after she wet my hair and the waves settled down she seemed a lot more confident but it was way too late then. And now I have to gain confidence in presenting myself with hair shorter than ever before hair. Sigh. I feel worse than I did in Catholic school. Maybe better if you like short hair or don't have waves. Or maybe if you have experience to know when to stop a stylist, but I've been using the same one for 20yrs so if I need to tell them to say, wet my hair so it lies flat before cutting it, I just didn't have that experience to say anything and hopped a professional with 17yrs experience would be able to make up for that"
