The Givingtree Benefit Shop at Community Church of the Monterey Peninsula is a unique institution located at 4590 Carmel Valley Road in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. This shop, run by the church, serves as a place of worship as well as a store where community members can come together to browse, see, and buy a variety of items.

Located just one mile east of Hwy 1, between Carmel Middle School and Palo Corona Regional Park, the Givingtree Benefit Shop welcomes all visitors and looks forward to greeting them with open arms. Founded in October 2014, the mission of this shop is to promote Christian fellowship and provide much-needed assistance to both the church and the local community.

Donations made to the Givingtree Benefit Shop are tax deductible and go towards supporting various local homeless programs such as I-HELP, Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Dorothy’s Place. After covering shop expenses and church needs, any additional funds are used to support community organizations and charitable causes approved by the shop committee, Women’s Association, and Board of Governors of the Community Church of the Monterey Peninsula.

Some of the organizations that benefit from the Givingtree Benefit Shop include Dorothy’s Place, Food Bank of Monterey County, Gathering for Women, I-Help, Loaves, Fishes & Computers, Nancy’s Project (Migrant ministry), Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, and Salvation Army Good Samaritan Center. By shopping at or donating to the Givingtree Benefit Shop, community members are able to make a positive impact on those in need in the Monterey Peninsula area.
