Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

"My visit to Kura Sushi was filled with anticipation, drawn from countless TV features and a long-standing desire to experience a slice of Japan without leaving town. The concept of a sushi place where orders are placed through an iPad and delivered on a rail directly to your table sounded like a futuristic dining adventure. We were promptly seated after a 15-minute wait, greeted by a friendly hostess who guided us to our table and explained the ordering process. The novelty of selecting dishes on an iPad and watching them zoom towards us on a conveyor belt was genuinely exciting. Even the water was served by a robot, which added a charming and cute touch to the experience. However, the excitement quickly dimmed with the arrival of the food. The quality of the sushi was disappointing, falling short of even supermarket deli standards. After sampling 12 different dishes in hopes of finding something remarkable, we decided to stop ordering. The innovation and fun of the ordering process could not compensate for the lackluster food quality. While the experience was memorable for its unique delivery system and the novelty of the robot server, it’s unlikely we’ll return. The search for quality sushi continues, but the adventure at Kura Sushi serves as a reminder that innovation in service should go hand in hand with excellence in culinary offerings."

"Quick sign-up at the kiosk, got seated in under 10 mins. The booth seating provides some privacy. The entire process, from ordering to tracking orders to checkout, is contactless through the tablet (though you can also call the staff if needed). Sushi was delivered swiftly and sharply through the conveyor belt. Unfortunately, we didn’t received our water service as we saw everyone had theirs. Download the app for 300 points as (future) order credits. If you’re looking for efficiency, a contactless experience, and a great selection of delicious sushi, this is the place!"

"I’ve been to the Cupertino location a few times and there’s always a long wait there. This location is fairly new and there was no wait when I went around 4:15PM. My favorite here is the Seared Eel and Seared Salmon. Those have a hint of cream cheese on top of the nigiri which added extra flavor. The scallop nigiri was also good but I would skip ordering the fried scallops. The fried scallops was only comes with 4 scallops and it costs almost $10. The reason why I give this place 3 stars is due to the increase in price for Kura. A few years ago, it used to be about $1 something per plate. Now, the price went up to $3.70 per plate! This is a good casual spot to enjoy good sushi, but for the price, I would prefer to go eat elsewhere. Note: For every 15 plate that you eat, you will get a small prize. You insert the plates into the plate slot for it to count up your plates."

"Had an early dinner on Friday around 5:30pm. We put our name on the waitlist but got seated in 2 minutes. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food comes out fast … I like to order from the screen rather than from the conveyor belt. It comes out really fast! We even had R2D2’s cousin bring us water. You can also pay from the screen by scanning the QR code… east payout process."

"This branch is recently opened and has equally good taste as other ones. The menu felt shorter and few dishes on the revolving bar were not available on the ordering kiosk. The ordered dishes came quickly although the plates on the bar were mostly empty. Overall good food, slow service compared to other branches. Waiting time at dinner time was ~40min."
